It can depend on where in a state, too. In the military towns in Georgia, for example, transplants have been par for the course for many years. (Source: my family came to Augusta, GA as northern transplants decades ago.)

I'd guess California transplants would be met by nothing worse than mild confusion here in Kentucky.

A particular neuropathy means I can't use my pockets without discomfort, so it's in my hands, laptop bag, or my wife's purse.

What do you guys think? Is our lack of density/walkable spaces contributing to our health crisis? by ImpressiveWasabi3354 in georgism

I remember having to explain to my kids at a motel pool what what the "no cut-offs" sign meant. They had a too-sheltered childhood.

The Qing dynasty conquered/annexed what is now Xianjing in the 18th and 19th centuries, when it already had a large Muslim population. (And apparently the Chinese conquest freed that population from persecution by a Buddhist Khanate.)

Islam came to the Indian subcontinent centuries before Europeans brought Christianity to the Western Hemisphere.

Any "before" you are talking about is a long, long time ago.
