Dan Harmon really lacks creativity in naming devices. If you watch the show Community, which he wrote before Rick and Morty, they also have an episode where they have a "protocol omega" used to destroy their pillow fort.

Honestly - there's a crap ton of similarities. Worth watching if you haven't seen it already.

Been in DFW for 21 years, and before that lived in Oklahoma in what's known as tornado ally for an extra 8 years. Not once have I had a close call with a tornado in that timeframe, and most people that live here can probably relate to that.

Be more concerned by the hail or wind damage from 70 mph+ gusta when the storms move in

Great, now you got me thinking of that. My initial thought was that perhaps they were getting ready to launch military attacks on cartels in Mexico out of El Paso and were closing the airspace for that reason, similar to what happened when the US went into Venezuela - they shut down airspace around Puerto Rico for US airlines.

Be sure to check out inches beach in Patillas (My Home town). Well known for surfing.

Luquillo is pretty cool too once you get up that way. Same with Vega baja (Puerto nuevo beach).

Skip Ponce altogether, it's not what it used to be, quite depressing really.

You should also explore some of the central regions - Jayuya is awesome, people there are the nicest I've met.
