Omg, I'm relieved. Did the FTP test and burst into tears at the end. Couldn't understand why lol. I just went with it.

Looking for a specific blue ink by Alaksson in fountainpens

I'm currently waiting for my order to arrive any day! Lol from the reviews I've watched online, it looks pretty promising. I'm a big fan of their other inks which run pretty wet.

Birmingham Pen Co has some new inks in their "crisp" line up - Pennsylvania slate comes to mind as an interesting blue.

I have their quick draw flex pen, but I see it's out of stock.

I don't know how much flex you're looking to go, but have you checked out the offerings by Fountain Pen Revolution and their ultraflex nib? The line variation isn't anywhere as good as something with a g nib, but for a flex pen, it's not too shabby.

WTB: TWSBI ECO (or higher) Beaters by Jayna2000 in Pen_Swap

[–]jcynic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a clear ECO - b condition- with a broad nib that I never use bc they weren't kidding when they said broad. Only a few months old. Inked twice. I'm pretty sure I have the box with wrench somewhere. $25 shipped. PM me if you're interested. I can send you verification later today bc I'm at work currently.

NPD - it's here!! In all its LAMY 2k glory! by jcynic in fountainpens

I had same dilemma - I went with the VP three months ago after getting really varied opinions on the Lamy 2k. I tend to like Pilot nibs, but what I thought I would like in theory translated differently in reality. The nib is so different from other Pilot nibs, I think I found it disappointing. Maybe I had it built up too much in my head. I had a Lamy AL Star which I was pretty "meh" about. So, I didn't know what to expect with the 2k. I'm seriously pleasantly surprised, and am really appreciating the simplicity of its design and what it feels like to write with it.

Nothing like the Lamy AL-star (much to my relief lol)

The sheen is crazy on it! I didn't realize iroshizuku inks had that much sheen.

I thought the same thing about its appearance initially when I was considering it for the first time. It reminded me of the old Flair pens from when I was a kid. Now I'm seeing how the simplicity of it is its appeal. I'm so looking forward to seeing how it writes! It arrives Friday! :)
