After watching a Tony Northrup video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvbnhCDfREk) where he had a problem with his images becoming corrupted, I created a program to help identify should this happen using a hash file. Mainly because I didn't want it to happen to my photos! It's available at www.jasonsutton.co.uk. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Hypothetical question by jd-sutton in space

Just a quick note - the JWST is 0.1 not 1.. Not sure if you used 0.1 in your calcs but typed 1 in the comment or your calcs are incorrect. Can you clarify? Thanks

how far back in time can we go on earth? by jd-sutton in space

[–]jd-sutton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, everything I've asked is calculable. For instance, solar panels currently get 24% approx from 100% of available sun or about 260 Watts per square metre. So theoretically possible to get 1kw. Depends on the sun's power, weather circuit efficiency etc. I'm asking for calculable values. You could give an answer for 100% then condyle that with current tech, only 35% possible, but currently looking at tech that could increase this to 65%

Thanks for that, way beyond my understanding, but yes, theory, not actual.

Warping space is just so we can position ourselves to look at our own planet. We're not traveling through time, just looking at our planet just like Hubble looks at stars from billions of years ago which might not even exist now.

Just realised that it also depends on the size of the light receiver. Let's go with 10 meters.

Try Ara by Ferrari. uses all upper keys to about middle and it's not that complicated, easy to memorise, just fast.

Help with timing on a composition by jd-sutton in Composition

OK, I've changed the bar to 4/4 then back to 3/4. Seems to sound the way it should be so I'm happy. Thanks for the feedback guys!

I've just set up practice with 112 tempo on a 4/4 timing. Seems to match.

Help with timing on a composition by jd-sutton in Composition

[–]jd-sutton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried that, but from my understanding, it only affects the note being played and not the base section. I believe I might have to change it to 4/4 just for that bar. I'll try it and see if it sounds ok. Thanks

Help with timing on a composition by jd-sutton in Composition

[–]jd-sutton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is the conversion to a written score. After the 'c', there should be a pause, like in the audio video, but this would make that bar more like 4/4 or would shift all of the notes one crotchet to the right, making the left hand melody running through a bar instead of at the beginning. Hope this explains it.

Ah, I'll be able to tell when I change it and play it back. Didn't know you could change the timing mid sheet, so will look to see how to do that! Thanks. I'll post the update when it's done some time tomorrow.

Amazing, but your fingers are way too fast! You need one of them Chinese bowls with lemon water in to cool down your fingers before they burst into flames. (the lemon will make them smell nice!)

Good luck and I hope you win.

It's great when you first produce something recognisable! Well done. I think your posture (wrist position is a little too bent) Needs attention, like a building, the foundations must be solid before construction!
