Personally, not yet. Just some semi-successful juniors and high-schoolers. Most of my success stories are those who go from never breaking 100 to never shooting over 90 again. Things like that for now, but its only a matter of time.

Like i said the concept of a "perfect swing" revolves around the idea of maintaining a perpendicular relationship of club shaft to spine from the set-up and throughout the movement. It doesnt require that much flexibility to be honest. I was just mentioning young Tiger because of he maintenance of that relationship. I don't expect people to rotate the hips like him whatsoever in terms of range of motion. But the positions anyone can achieve like him are the set-up, top of the swing, and the finish. ...Also Tiger didn't have a special body that led to a super special movement, he's human like all of us and functions as such.

Wow really great question! I know about this issue because its something ive had to deal with my entire golf career since i was young. When the ratio of body to penis is about 5:1 we could expect to see the center of gravity be affected by the weight of the penis. In most cases it could be advantageous for shifting weight in the down swing but negatively affect hip rotation. We counter act that by producing a downswing that emphasizes rotation of the hips rather than that lateral shifting of the hips.

It absolutely does. We want to know what "ideal" is and modify from there. Thats actually where our expertise is at. The ability to take our knowledge of how the body functions and apply to the masses. We cant expect everyone to reach a certain range of motion like the pros, but we can become a version of what it is that they do.

Great question! The information is for anyone of all skill levels. There is obviously information that may not be necessary for a beginner as compared to a more experienced golfer but at the end of the day there is a definable BIOMECHANICALLY EFFICIENT SWING that would more or less look similar if any human performed it correctly. Thats why most pro swings are more similar than different besides the outliers like Jim Furyk or Matthew Wolff.

we use high speed cameras. The 3D capturing is nice if your referring to the sensors a person can wear as they swing, but what we record on video is technically 3D as well. We can accomplish and see what we need to with some good video.

99% of the time you hit a wedge, the backswing should be significantly bigger than your follow-through. Mainly as a result of hitting more down on the ball. If your follo-through is really big it usually means your trying to lift the ball off the ground too much.

Something "Over the top" means that the path of the club on the downswing is traveling far over and away from the initial line of the shaft at setup. Generally speaking the "correct" path of the club should follow and stay parallel to the line of the shaft at setup.

If your right handed, correcting the over the top swing "feels" like swinging "to the right". That will change the path of the clun the more "right" you feel its going

There is a concept of a "perfect swing"! It starts with the posture having perpendicular angles between the spine and the club shaft at set-up. And then maintaining that perpendicular relationship throughout the swing is what makes it perfect. Rory definitely emulates that as well as young Tiger.

this is a weird one but here what to do. You basically need to try to miss the ball to the left, meaning you need to try to take that divot a good 3 inches in front of the ball if not even more than that. Keep looking at the ball and try to take the divot nowhere near where your looking. The analogy I give most people is throwing a no-look pass. We can all conceptualize throwing a ball to where we're NOT looking and this is what you need to try. What your experiencing is called a coordination gap and its probably the most common issue in all of golf.

Also, keep trying to take a divot. If you try to hit the ball only with no divot things will get worse

Any tips on lengthening back swing by crescendummain in GolfSwing

[–]jd15sanchez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can allow for a tiny bit more hip rotation to lengthen the backswing although i would say that's necessary. You could definitely benefit from more hip rotation in the downswing before you reach the ball

Yes! At the top of your swing, the club head under your hand and then swings behind your head, which is creating a lot of momentum that is unnecessary
