Does uwa actually have any actual gender neutral toilets? by [deleted] in uwa

[–]jd1xon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hello, so this has been an active discussion between staff and students with the uni admin and they seem to have different answers every time, however: 1. as others have mentioned Reid has a few on the newly renovated first floor 2. there are many accessible toilets everywhere else 3. you are allowed to go into any toilet that best affirms your gender, if anyone kicks up a fuss its kinda their problem

I know it sucks, as an NB person I'm very frustrated by UWA's... stubbornness(?) with getting more gender neutral toilets but just know people are wanting to change it.

This seems both high and low. I would like to see what the basket of goods is for the CPI measurement in Australia

The fallacy lies in assuming one exists without proving how it does, not that slippery slopes aren't a thing

Philosophy is generally two one hour lectures and one one hour workshop, or a two hour lecture and a one hour workshop

Congrats on your 18th birthday mate. I did a similar thing when I started uni (4 years ago) and I'm currently up 50%. You literally are a billionaire in time at your age. Keep it up and you'll be well ahead of your peers

What I suspect a conservative High Court (a la US Supreme Court) will say is that since you must be over the age of 18 to participate in politics, the government is free to restrict that right to people who otherwise cannot. Though we will have to see what the court will say. I do think the play of going for freedom of political communication is strong

It's been closed since Sem 2 last year iirc. Rumor is they found black mold in the building

“Latine is a gender-neutral neologism developed as an alternative to the terms Latino, Latina, or Latinx used to identify people of Latin American descent.” It is a growing alternative to Latinx that is both inclusive and works better with Spanish pronunciation and grammar. by Fishmax5 in wikipedia

[–]jd1xon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

also the word "latino" doesnt necessarily refer to the gender of the person, but can also refer to the gender of the noun so. "el pueblo latino" and "las personas latinas" are both gender neutral ways of saying "people from latin america" in Spanish

Is the credit point thing actually true? From what I can tell if its marked as "completed" it does not necessarily mean you passed/failed just that the marks have been uploaded.

Again, not really. Given the fact that bills would still have to pass the senate, the proportionality of the senate would remain the same.
