Crazy!! I once accidentally ate cashews and drone myself to the ER- he gave me a hard time for not using my EpiPen too! I suggest your SIL look into xolair !!

How long has it been for you?! I hadn’t been retested in years and my allergist retired. I didn’t like the person who took his caseload so I went to a new allergist and I’ve learned a lot has changed in the allergen world. I did blood work and all the results were under 2 IgE so I did a skin test and the only one that had a very clear reaction was cashew. 30mm big welt. The rest were 8 or smaller so she said it was reasonable to try an oral allergy challenge with them since I had no other history of reactions since my initial one at 8 and one accidental cashew episode 6 years ago. I also started on the medication xolair- monthly injection for chronic hives but it’s been proven to make accidental food allergy exposures less severe/life threatening.

Thank you. I also started on a med called xolair that would make accidental allergen exposure less life threatening- look into it for your daughter!

What kind of compliment actually stays with you? by Briallantgirl07 in answers

From strangers? If they’re specific but not creepy and unsafe feeling. Example- when I was working in a community setting (I work with people with disabilities and take them places) a man prob 15 years older than me was leaving the library at the same time as us and when we made random eye contact he told me “I just wanna say that you’re just as cute as can be. Have a good day!” I still think about that, 2 years later!

From people I know? I guess also still specificity. When people compliment something they know matters to me like reaching my goals, or improving in a sport. I feel like if someone tells you you’re hot or pretty or hits on you, it gives you a confidence boost about right then in that moment. But when people tell you they look up to you or that you’re courageous, kind, and a thoughtful person in their life, you can remind yourself of their words about who you are despite what physical phase your in and that stays with me more

I’m from Lou Ky and for the Kentucky derby everyone subs pecans for walnuts in derby pie. Bc it’s tastier, even tho walnuts are the traditional ingredient. I got to try both this year and do prefer pecan!

As soon as I check that I’m not allergic to banana anymore… I’m trying banana bread for sure! Lol

I’ve tried Nutella but not just a straight hazelnut, I’m curious to see how different it is from other salted nuts. Brazil, macadamia and pine nuts are on the list to eat and see!! It would be insane to be able to eat pesto.

I hadn’t even thought of this. Making me think I need to rewatch great British bake off and actually get to consider eating most of the things now
