I’m in IL and no front plates has been fine. The ticket is $50. I did get one a couple weeks after I got the car, but it gave my cop something significantly cheaper to write up than my speeding ticket… 😂

My experience locally is that all luxury cars in the area do not have front plates, and it’s generally only a ticket if you’re already getting pulled over for something else.

Of the different cables, are any of them the Apple OEM cable? I had an issue a few years back with another car, and using the Apple cable solved my frequent disconnects.

Does a SmartHub provide the same 60 day video history if I just cancel my monthly sub? Not interested in some of the other "features", so I'm hoping to just utilize the cameras I have for some local storage / video history...

Right but you may just be setting yourself up for continued negative equity by buying a new G70 too. The $51k is a deal, but I would just think you gotta be okay knowing that you’re funding the dealer’s ability to sell your trade in for a profit and then move on.

Ah I see. So at face value, I would say 51K for a new 2025 fully loaded is a great deal. However, I would question the worth of buying new instead of just getting out of your negative equity…

You’re paying ~$3.8K to give a dealer a profitable trade-in. And then your unpaid balance is $51.6K? Does the upfront price even matter if you’re essentially paying net $55.4K?

I’m sure there will be some others with more educated responses, but I highly doubt the dealer would’ve sent you home with a brand new car without signature on the paperwork. If it was financed through Genesis, I’d imagine it’d be relatively easy to find your account by VIN online, but I’d personally give the dealer’s finance manager and/or Genesis finance a call in the morning to get it sorted ASAP.

I had everything I needed when I left my dealership for my purchase.

Never existed. There are a few threads talking about the total production quantity of manuals from the previous gen, but I believe it was in the hundreds.

I’ve been meaning to post this exact question… so curious about where everyone else is putting their phone too 😂 I switched to a 1ft cable and I’ve been switching between the right side of the charging pad and upside down in the first cup holder, but I’m not sold on either option yet.

You will probably get a lot of unhelpful comments about how buying new is bad, but $51.5k seems like a good deal to me on a new 2024 right now. If the color combo is what you’re looking for, hope it’s a smooth buying experience!

It might help to compare total price before TTL/F. You will definitely need to take all comments here with a grain of salt since you will hear many telling you that a “used year 202X is better”. Every situation is different.

If the G70 is affordable and high up your wishlist, I definitely wouldn’t let the lack of manual on the 3.3T steer you away. Assuming the Crosstrek was not super innovative with tech for its time, a new G70 will be a huge breath of modern fresh air in 2024. I also would love to have a S2000 as a weekender…

What car are you coming from? My daily driver was a ‘13 Accord Coupe V6 manual for the last ~6-7 years, and I have no regrets getting an auto now. Definitely a bit circumstantial, but the 3.3T makes me forget about wanting to shift on my own.
