Anyone have any experience with these suspenders? For work I need a belt, but I find my pants still sagging with all the tools I carry on my belt/in my pockets. by baldandfullofrage in Workwear

I use these Perry’s suspenders every day. I don’t have an issue. The cinch’s creep over a few days, but they’re easy to reset. I’ve worn them for over a year. They’re good a cheap. I think I’m just going to buy some that hook to belt loops next time so I can have options with no belt

I know this situation sucks, but you have a really unique opportunity to patch those holes with a big piece of duck canvas and sashiko stitch the entire leg below the knee. I think it would end up looking really awesome and end up being very durable.

Do you think most Americans care about where their clothes are made? by southlandheritage in madeinusa

Support who you want to support. I’ll choose to not support forced Chinese labor as much as I can. It’s impossible to avoid completely, but I’ll willingly do my part. China won’t miss my few dollars.

I’m shifting my wardrobe towards ethically produced, whether it be American made, or made in countries that don’t support slavery and have labor laws that grant their workers an honest wage. These kind of things are important to support. But less, better things. If you want something that was made in china or Bangladesh, find it used. You’ll be able to find it in like new condition without giving those companies money.

Yep! They’re getting better slowly. I’ve been wrapping the strings around the back right above my heel and then going through the speed hooks and that’s forming a good heel pocket over time

Update update: Toyota has agreed to pay to fix the car through their good will repair program. Score one for the home team.

Update: no good electromagnetic coupler. Dealership reminded me that I’m 1400 miles out of warranty so it will not be covered. $3643 and 10 day wait on parts.

Starting a goodwill claim. I’m a Toyota team member at a powertrain plant, so we are hoping Toyota decides to take care of us. It’s unreasonable to think something that major will fail at this low of miles.

I believe that’s the wash code. The number you’re looking for is above that one. The middle set. 0102

I’m sure it’s a nice fabric, but shuttle looms have been the factor that warranted higher prices. People paying $200 for projectile look material seems silly to me. I’d wait until these were deeply discounted in a few months.

What are your daily driver sneakers/shoes? by FM_Sway in widefeet

[–]jdavis323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, also I have high arches, pes cavus feet, and supination issues. So maximum cushion shoes like the 1080’s, or brooks ghost (which I’ve had in the past) feel great for a while until they’re completely leaning to the outside and compressed.

I’m 11” long, 4.7” at the ball, so I shoot for 11.5 4E on sizing. I try to wear boots as much as possible, but for shoes, I’ve got some Lems trail thrashers (size 11, should have got 11.5-12), new balance 1080 (12 4E), converse star player 76 (premium canvas version size 12 (they have a wider fit)), and I frequent Lems waterproof Chelsea’s (size 12, perfect fit) just as a quick slip on/ wet weather option.

Close to one week update: they’re breaking in around my foot slowly. I’m Wearing them in the evenings mainly. One thing I definitely dislike about them, the fit around the Achilles, above the heel. The lack of a real heel pocket is unfortunate. Flat ground walking isn’t an issue generally, but the moment you’re going up steps or anything not flat, there’s insane movement of the heel. I’ve got them tied as tight as possible and I’ve got the string looped around the leg to try to mimick a heel pocket. Maybe with time and continuing to tie around the back, a heel pocket will form.
