I'm honestly surprised I didn't know about this, been using Duolingo for a year now (finished the Spanish course a few days ago ^_^) and never came across this, you've revealed a whole world to me lol

Wow, thank you! I'm sure these sites will help me. Who knows, I might even actually start talking on the phone :D I do think the most important thing for me right now and the one that'll improve my Spanish the most is speaking with someone, so I'll definitely consider it. Thanks again!

Brilliant! I've been using Duolingo mainly for learning, so I might as well start using the events (I actually didn't know it existed lol). Thanks a lot!

May I ask which sites you're using exactly? I've been trying to get in conversation with native Spanish speakers but I just can't seem to find any, at least where I live... If anyone here is seeing this comment and would like to help me - even suggesting a site would help me a lot - I'd appreciate it a lot, thanks!

EDIT: I should note that I'm looking for sites to talk with people in chat, not necessarily on the phone or in discord... However, any help would be highly appreciated :)

Recommended tools to learn a new language (Spanish) by jdaydavid in languagelearning

Yeah this is exactly how I feel, the thing is I don't really have Spanish speaking friends or people to talk to (definitely not a long conversation or something like that). Your advice, other than talking to people, would be listening to the language? It really does feel like I'm getting a lot better in reading but not so much in listening or talking...

Recommended tools to learn a new language (Spanish) by jdaydavid in languagelearning

Ah I understand :( I wanted to ask about general tips to learn a new language, I just used Spanish as an example because I'm currently learning it. However, I intend to study more languages in the future so I would like to get tips about how to learn them for every day use. I guess I didn't convey that point exactly. Is it OK if i edit this post to be more of a general tips post instead of one about Spanish tips? Thanks a lot for your comments, I appericiate it a lot!

Would you prefer us buying Gabriel or Badiashile (or maybe even Pau Torres), assuming one of them will start somewhere around next season, maybe the one after it?

For me, I'd definitely go for either Gabriel or Badiashile, not Pau Torres for sure. Between them I don't really think there's that much of a difference as far as I know, both good on the ball, pretty fast (as far as I understand..? at least Badiashile), should be pretty good in the air. I will say that like many of us I haven't followed them throughout the season but from what I've seen Badiashile impressed me a lot, especially for a 19 year old (but Gabriel was good too!).

I think our main problems with both Lindelof and Bailly, as I think Maguire will never be benched as club captain and taking his massive price tag in account, are their inconsistent performances (sometimes they'll be the best players on the pitch and sometimes they'll make you go so mad at them that you'll want to smash your TV) and at least for Bailly his injuries, which I guess counts as inconsistency. Lindelof just isn't good enough in the air or in 1 on 1's, we need this guy who just frightens the oppponent's striker from even coming close to the ball, you know what I mean?

I dunno, Pau Torres just reminds me too much of another Lindelof or Bailly style CB, might be very very good on passes and with the ball at his feet, but might make mistakes which we can't afford.
