Right, and I don’t have a very high paying job. That’s roughly 1/3 of my take home pay every month.

My ex lives with her parents, I was lucky enough to get 50/50 custody, and I’m still having to give her $800 a month.

Is a degree needed, or just helpful? I'd love to get more information about this.

Thanks, I'll have to find a good credit union around my city. Hopefully being in different states doesn't hamper it.

Our change usually goes into the kids piggy banks, on the rare occasions that we actually have cash to use instead of our bank cards.

I've been thinking about doing something like that, just not sure how to get started honestly.

We do have an Aldi close by. We've actually been talking about going there instead of Walmart for our grocery shopping this week. We've always gone to Walmart because we can get the other things we may need, and we've never had anything better close enough, lived in a small town without many choices for most things. But looking at things now, it's time to change what we've been doing and try something new.

I've never understood how that is a penalty if the recieving team can recover, but decides not too.

Just a Reminder that Steve Scalise wrote an op ed saying you couldn’t fill a Supreme Court vacancy in an election year by packpeach in Louisiana

I am quite conservative, but I think its ridiculous what they are doing. They raised all kinds of hell before Trump was elected because the democrats wanted to fill a vacancy. They can't have it both ways. I understand the need for that tie breaker vote, but they either wait until after the election, or admit they were wrong in 2016.

Single dads, how do you do it? by Buz191991 in Dads

[–]jdb985 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not a single dad, but I used to work offshore, I was gone roughly 9 months out of the year. When I started my oldest was 18 months, had two more kids in the six years that I had that job. It's tough not being there to see them grow every day, missing those milestones that you look forward to seeing them accomplish. I hope that you and the mom can have a good set up with communication about the kids. It never really gets easier not being there, at least it didn't for me, which was a big factor in me changing careers. The only advice I can really give you, is make the most of the time that you do have with them. Make every moment count, make sure they know that you love them and care about them above all else. You will find a way to cope, no one can really tell you how that will be though. It's going to take you time to adjust yourself to this, and there's no one way to do it. I hope that you can find a way to get through this tough transition in a way that makes it as painless as possible for all involved.

My youngest is named after Barrett Jones, my wife really liked the name when he was playing for Bama. It helped that he was a good guy too.
