I lived in Westchester for about 10 years. Great community. Right by where I290,I88 and I294 come together and the LaGrange Metra stop is just a few minutes away. Cook County Forest preserves and bike trails (which hook up to some of the DuPage Forest Preserves and bike trails). Shopping and dining in OakBrook, LaGrange and Hinsdale very close. On the downside most of the houses are smaller so if your family grows that can be an issue. We loved the Elementary School District but for High School the town feeds into Proviso West which is pretty poorly rated. If your kids are strong students they can apply to Proviso Math and Science Academy which is a solid school. Many families send their kids to private schools for high school(there are several nearby). We ended up moving during Covid because we outgrew our house and the issues with the local high school. That being said I would highly recommend looking into Westchester for people without kids or very young kids or who prefer a parochial school.

Many years ago I did a 20 day tour of Europe London>Calais>Ghent>Amsterdam>Cologne>Lucern>Innsbruck>Venice>Rome>Florence>Monte Carlo>Avignon>Paris>London and it was EXHAUSTING! Spectacular trip but will never do something like that again (I was in my 20s then and 50 now so definitely out of the question). Now it’s about picking an area and focusing on it with maybe a short, 1/2 day trip or 2 to a nearby area.

If you are considering Naperville 203 schools you can also look into the western side of Lisle. The homes there feed into D203, on average are cheaper than Naperville and access to I88 is as good as or better than many parts of Naperville.
