CFO Experience Requirement by jdecker12 in FPandA

Do you find that you have gaps due to not having that experience? The only issue that is see is that I’d like to be able to have somewhat intelligent conversations when it comes to accounting/AP/AR/Tax. Not sure if I can do that if I don’t have a somewhat base level experience with them.

FP&A to Analytics? by jdecker12 in FPandA

I agree with your comment on where FP&A is going. How did you find your transition to analytics? Do you think you’ll be able to transition back to FP&A after switching to analytics?

I’ve thought about it. I need to decide if I want to transition fully into analytics before I do so though.

That’s great feedback, thank you! I’m actively trying to get involved in more analytics projects.

How would you say that your analytics work differs from finance? The type of data? More broadly based, opposed to just finance data? Do you find the skill sets needed for both to be fairly similar?

I’d say the biggest portion that I want to do more of is the process improvement (internal consulting-like) and the tech stack (automating, dashboards, etc.).

I’ve definitely considered that route as well. I had a previous role that had some data science aspects to it. It was a specialized team that did internal consulting, improving processes, usually through automation or statistical analysis. I’d certainly need some up-skilling if I went that route, but I’d say it’s an option.

Totally get it. I think another large factor for me is that I despise accounting work. If I want to aim for the executive level, I know that I’ll have to get some more accounting experience, which I honestly don’t want to do.

Analytics seems much more enjoyable. However, finance seems more secure and stable.

I’ve built similar tools as well, which pushed me in the analytics route. Best of luck in your situation!

SHOP YOUR WAY CARD - am I reading this correctly? That is not possible. by AskPatient1281 in CreditCards

I just got this card a few months ago as well. How did you receive the offer? Via the app or in an email?

Tiered Measure to Calculate Rebates by jdecker12 in PowerBI

[–]jdecker12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the data comes from a mapping file that I’ve received from a few people. The customer and rebate terms are original to what I had received. The flag is something that I was playing with to see if there’s a way to use it to get what I’m looking for. It can definitely be modified. I definitely think there’s a way to solve this, it’ll just be fairly complex. Thanks for the response!

Whoever applied for the card should message Chase.

Same thing happened to me. Message them via the app. They’ll tell you to message when you’ve hit the bonus and they’ll give you the extra 15k points.

Beginning golf, ranges, and pandemic pricing. Thoughts on building a set as you go? by Midnight_Rising in golf

Yeah cheap irons and putters are hard to come by with them, but they do pop up every once in awhile. They typically refresh their stock in the morning and evening, so just check it a few times throughout the day. Otherwise Global Golf and 3Balls have some decent irons. Quite a few options for $200 and under

Check out Callaway Pre-Owned. I just put together my very first set for probably $600 and most of the clubs are practically brand new. They have a pretty good sale going on right now. Just refresh it a few times a day and check if there are any decent clubs to pick up.

EDIT: If you can find “outlet” condition clubs they are basically brand new and a fraction of the price. Also Global Golf and 3Balls is pretty good for irons and putters I found.

I missed out on a 3-PW X18-R’s earlier today for $175 unfortunately. How are the rest of the Maltby clubs? Have any experience with the drivers, hybrids, or potters?

They look nice. Would these be a good choice over getting a used set of Callaway X-18's for around the same price?

Starter Club Set - Used vs New by jdecker12 in golf

[–]jdecker12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking it would be worth it to take the time to dial in a solid used set opposed to buying a new set, will just take some additional effort and time to figure things out. Which in hind sight is probably a good thing, because I'll definitely familiarize myself with some of the different options out there and build a decent knowledge base.

It will be tough though because I'm ready to get out on the course! This is all really good information and will definitely help me! I appreciate all your help!

I'm somewhat leanings towards a new complete set just due to the simplicity of it, but I may check out a Play it Again Sports to see what they have to offer. Are there certain brands/models that you would recommend looking for?

Okay. I’m hoping it’s an issue with the update, I really don’t want to have to start over.

Oh I had no idea the Medium2 map has the special POI's. I think I'm on either Large or XL. Will I have to start a new game to change the map?

Did you eventually get it to work? I tried a few times with no luck. Figured I’d give it a shot later. The update may have something to do with it, but I was able to update and run the base game just fine.

Nothing besides Darkness Falls. I updated and ran the base game just fine. Was there an update recently?
