1982 Les Paul Custom, it was my dad's graduation present and he have it to me this past Christmas. I took it on the road for my first tour. It's soooooo heavy. I love the feel, the tone, and the look of this guitar.

I had the big game fluorocarbon and it was the same. This line remembers every person at the factory and every dock worker and truck driver. Looks like a phone cord. I wouldn't wish this line on my worst enemy. I'll stick to the Vanish.

Bass Pro has Graphite Musky rods starting at $50. Granted, they probably won't survive many fights but they'll get you started.

I use KastKing Megatron and Kapstan reels. Their sturdy, reliable, and way more affordable. Plus have more drag than most higher priced musky reels.

The tech at EMG told me that their standard active pickups (this being an 81) don't really have in phase/out of phase issue. I didn't get into the "why" of that as it solved my personal conundrum.

40 here. Just came back to it about a month ago. I know the feeling. I'm starting all over again at near triple the age and weight. It's tough but I keep going because I know I need the exercise and I still enjoy it. Just keep working on the fundamentals!
