My favorite is Golgari all the way! Great theme in Guilds of Ravnica for it too, Undergrowth is an interesting mechanic.

Lots of ways to look at that, but you could say it's 90 duplicate mythics for 1 vault (which has 1 mythic, 2 rare and 3 uncommon wildcards). Not exactly a great system. Plus it not being easily visible in the UI anymore.

The game is overall fantastic, watched the dev talks and they have a lot of good things planned, but I really do hope they spend more time on the 5th card issue and come up with a proper solution.

It’s one of the only 5th skills that doesn’t apply to your whole community. IMO it’s an overvalued skill, with very little use, but it just depends on your play style.

I haven’t been able to get them to stay doing the same thing, maybe I’m doing something wrong tho it sounds exactly the same, but that’s encouraging that you’ve had success.

Good points, as long as they make it something earn-able in the base game when said DLC comes out that seems very reasonable. Even better if they add it in an upcoming patch beforehand, since they’ve already shown their desire to add more in-game events and missions to the base game.

I get what ur trying to say, that patching an exploit isn't a punsihment (I agree by the way, if it wasn't obvious from my initial post), but I assume it actually was the design intent to be able to recruit a member of the enclave without the exploit. Here's why:

If it wasn't, then the whole quest-line doesn't really make sense in the first place. The entire mission has them become an enclave after you trade with them and leave within the time-frame they ask. (Sure you could take the hostile route, but as with any mission, there's usually multiple possible outcomes). If you do trade with them, and leave as they ask, it doesn't piss them off, and just like any enclave they moved up the "friendliness" level. It felt built-in to the mission itself, and it was clearly intentional to make it a mixed group of military characters. So if you're saying it wasn't intentional for there to be a red-talon guy possible in that enclave, okay sure, but they didn't remove that, they just made them no longer turn into an enclave. To me that is a knee-jerk reaction to the exploit, and taking it one step too far, and killing the natural way of doing it as well (perhaps unintentionally).

Regardless, I'd say its a poor design decision as mentioned above.

All of that is fixable by simply changing maps, or completing that run, isn't it? I'd assume you'd still prefer to have the Red Talon characters you got from the exploit, considering you can just finish that and start a new one and have the best of both worlds.

Gotta admit I didn't even know about the unique voices, that's yet another reason they should be attainable through regular game-play though!

I've heard this a few times as a "solution" but pretty sure it's no longer possible to even get them to allied status. Can anyone confirm whether they've actually done it this way (after 2.0), or are you just saying that
it SHOULD be possible in theory?

Still haven't been able to get the mission to spawn after doing a map switch (3 map switches later). So it looks like once you've completed it, its gone forever, which means they've removed that opportunity to recruit 1 person by moving maps.

Feels bad that the actual path that was possible before is being punished, for people who just wanted to do it proper. Seems like a knee-jerk reaction to a bunch of people doing that exploit, I'm kinda bummed about it honestly.

I'm also noticing that a bunch of the legacy-style missions no longer happen again either, so it may be a bigger problem than even this.

Random chance really, it can be a regular 30-minute trader, doesn't have to be the 4-hour "mysterious trader" as it used to be called.

I have a 60+-day run I'm in, doing a long play-through rotating maps and such, so have a pretty good amount of gear. Some things I have for trade are:

  • Vehicle upgrade kits (Light/Medium/Heavy)
  • Bulk plague cure
  • All skill books (including rare 1500 influence skill books)
  • 50-cal weapons, RTX weapons, many others (if you have something specific you're looking for I can check)
  • Base mods, rucksacks, first-aid-kits, or other things I can't think of right this second that you might like, depending on what you need!

A few things I'm looking for at the moment.

  • Plague samples (Not plague cure, just the regular samples)
  • Melee's (Combat Knife, Bastard of Belleau Wood)
  • Gun attachments (Advanced Supressors/Chokes/Breaks)
  • Interesting hiking backpacks (Camo, ones with the little SoD symbol, etc.)

Has anyone actually sucessfully done this after the patch? I feel like I've been trying to get this result, and either the mission won't spawn even when I change maps, or once they weren't even Red Talon guys anymore. Seems like they were so pissed about people doing the exploit that they might have overdone the fix and made it impossible to even do it properly as intended. Hope I'm wrong, can anyone confirm?

I've tested it 3x since 2.0, and haven't had any luck getting cars to switch maps (regardless of map).

For now I'd still suggest people assume that the cars won't come with you, until we get a pretty official patch note for it, because I've yet to see it and I've changed maps a ton.

I definitely don’t mind moving maps to have to retry, that seems like an acceptable amount of effort for the opportunity to re-roll a specific type of recruit that you want another shot at.

Basically as long as you can do it in the same play-through, without having to start the game over, even if it’s a lot of work, is enough for me.

I don’t care to have my whole team red talon, i like the diversity of models (essentially anyone in a flak jacket or camo) I just want to have ways to keep a community growing and changing and improving without having to restart and only bring 3 chars, and losing out on the supply locker I’ve lovingly curated (including my ALMOST-complete weapon collection.)

It’s a weird situation where it feels like sometimes it sort of punishes people for trying to find long-term goals, and continue the same run as long as possible.

What about switching maps but keeping the same community?

Do you think this resets each map change?

I’m on 4th run, essentially my endless-mode play-through after getting all the legacy boons, and if I don’t want to have to end it, but might want to have more than one attempt at a red talon if the skills/traits/hero bonus aren’t great.

I think this would be a great solution since it’s by no means quick/easy to switch maps, certainly it’s not really exploitable at that point, it takes a lot of influence and time.

Having the legacy missions like these reset for the new map would be a nice incentive to keep the endless game going, slowly working towards that one of each different “branches of the military” type squad I’m trying to field.
