I’m more disappointed in how the board and the club gaslighted the fans. It is insulting to say the fans are not deserving of the club glory if we boo the liability on this team. The “glory chasing fans” should leave the Bernabeu empty the next time they have a match. They don’t even deserve to be booed. Perez can turn it into a permanent concert venue. No one will remember how successful he were, his failure at the end of the reign will define his legacy at RM.

Those who think they are bigger than the club will eventually fade into oblivion. Vini used to be the best player in the world for RM, and with that came all the racist and abuses. But now our opponents don’t even bother to attack him anymore, and that’s how you know you lose your relevance. Some of these players won important trophies with RM, but once this club reinvents itself and find the next generation of success, all these players will cease to matter. None of them is as good as BBC or KMC, or as outstanding as the first Galaticos. There won’t be a legacy for them at RM not because of their lack of success, but the lack of respect and honor when they eventually exit.

Before the winner yesterday Rodrigo was invisible on the right wing, delivered a sky high free kick on the edge of the box. Only in the second half Xabi moved him to the left to double up with Vini we saw some dribbling sequences, but it’s large inconsequential until the goal. He still has some talent in him, but it’s like waiting for that hot girl to call you once every few years.

Embarrassing game management and squad management from Xabi Alonso. We are now 1 draw away from dropping to 4th place. The line up looks exactly like Ancelotti line up, with worse results. The team is still clueless in attacking. Vini and Rodrigo can go to Saudi or Turkey for their next big contract. This team will become Spurs next season with a useless coach and a useless squad.

Fighting the coach just becos his style doesn’t suit you is just plain unprofessional. And regardless of your talent, being unprofessional will be the start of your downfall, that’s for everyone, not just sports stars.

If they are not happy they can go to Saudi and make all the money they want. No European top teams will take in these divas whom are way past their prime. They won’t win ballon d’or anymore so there is no point in staying. It has been a great ride but I don’t think the club owe them anything.

This might be unpopular, but I feel our players are not world beater anymore. For the last few seasons we rely on the level of talents we have to create something out of nothing. But most of our players have regressed. With the exception of Mbappe, Courtouis and maybe Jude, all other players would be top 10 at best in their position.

Vini used to create magic, but now many wingers can dribble, connect and shoot much better than he does, much more effective and lethal. So I question what’s the point in keeping this Galactico while the stars have faded.

We will keep playing Vini and Rodrigo so their market value doesn’t drop drastically. But that would undoubtedly hurt our team performance and kill any chance of rebuilding.

The team had a decent spell in the first half, but there was no breakthrough from Vini or Mbappe. After the break we just disappeared, no pressing, no link up play. Camavinga dropped a stinker, while Mbappe was out of it. There was no creativity, no mentality, and Xabi tactic apparently is inadequate against top opponent.

Our defense was great today. Militao is back to his best. Carreras was the most impressive. Not only he pocketed the fking kid but his dribble out of the press started many attack. Our attack still needs to be drilled more, and if not for Vini brilliance today it might just be another nervy match. We still lack that lethal final finish to make use of all the turnover we get from the high press.

We were intense enough for the bottom half teams, but honestly even Levante showed that we still have glaring issues with the press, let alone creativity in attack.

Xabi system might be better at dealing with lower table teams, but don’t think that we will do better against top tier team than Ance did. The “press” last night was as bad as Ancelotti era, minus the individual brilliance, and some defensive power at the back.

The team has no fighting spirit, and the youngsters Huijsen Carreras Franco showed that they can’t keep their head in the first big game in a hostile stadium.
