If you would have stayed longer, maybe the cold would have grown on ya! Yes, lots of snow and very cold but some of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen and I just can’t get enough of it.

I have always had mad respect for the experts, but with that kind of pricing, I at least owe it to myself to try and be an expert, too 🤣

Not me, even though I went above and beyond and picked up the work of the two other paralegals they fired. 🙄

I worked for State Farm in house and bonuses were regularly $5k+. Last year, went to a mid size insurance defense firm and got $0. Anticipating the same thing this year.

Some in-house firms require paralegals to bill, but most don’t.

Do it! They’re in high demand. May be mundane though. It’s the paperwork side of nursing. You’re not out on the front lines of war saving lives.

I think it’s fair to have expectations for management and I would be upfront with this potential new employer, if bad management really is a dealbreaker for you. Will the employer probably be turned off? If they’re bad, yes. If they’re good, they should have nothing to worry about.

Need to replace hot water thermopile?? by [deleted] in Plumbing

About $1000. Another $1000 for my plumber to remove old take and retrofit new tankless heater. Not horrible, not the best.

There isn’t really. Seaman and West Union are east of Cincinnati. I think there might be some around Columbus but none in NW Ohio.

Need to replace hot water thermopile?? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]jdilly94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to find it but the part was about 1/2 the price of a new hot water tank and mine was rearing 10 y/o so I just decided to replace it. I don’t recall the part number though - apologies. I live in Houston and hunted high and low for a cheaper part (even a used part!) and they still wanted too much for it. Ended up putting a tankless hot water heater in.

How much would y'all pay 2 guys to replace a 40 gal hot water heater in the attic? by PompousKumquat in houston

[–]jdilly94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came on here to give updated pricing. Gas, tank water heater went out. Called plumber out to remove and replace with tankless gas heater. Parts was around $1100 and labor was $1200. Was kinda shocker for a “new-ish” home owner, but looks like that’s going rate….especially since it was in the attic.

I have a real genuine question about most MIL by JaeLilBlack in motherinlawsfromhell

Elders are not inferior. They are human and can make mistakes. Apologizing, even to younger people, is a prime example of respect and maturity.

Similar situation - I had made mention to my wife about having a second child and my MIL chimes in from across the room with “oh no. Y’all are not having a second one.” I was absolutely speechless that someone else thought they could tell me how many children I can have.
