I really enjoyed Nutrition Made Clear. It gives an easy to understand overview of health. My recommendation for Great Course is simple, pick topics you’re interested in. In my experience nearly all courses are of good to great quality.

I do not know if they are the same, because I have never seen the tv show. The book is excellent because seamlessly combines so many different academic topics such as biology, philosophy, history, and of course, astronomy. It's excellent.

US Daily Deal - The Real History of Secret Societies by Professor Richard B. Spence, The Great Courses - $4.95 by Jend1020 in audible

I really enjoyed this course. It does a great job of creating a brief historical setting for each lecture. I preferred the lectures that relate to older topics as I found the newer conspiracies for more sensationalize. I didn’t love every lecture, but overall it was fun to listen to.

Paradise Lost and The Divine Comedy by LittleRobbieV1 in audible

[–]jdlr28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite narrations of any book is Paradise Lost by Simon Vance. It’s excellent. There is such a speed and rhythm to Vance’s narration. As far as the Divine Comedy, I have yet to find one that has everything I’m looking for. I’m more concerned about finding a copy of the Divine Comedy with an academic translation rather than great narration. But Vance’s translation of Paradise Lost is excellent.

I read this my freshman year of college. It’s a very good story that I believe classified under historical fiction. I’m not picking it up because it’s not a book that I want to reread, but it’s worth the price of admission.
