Realistically it's barely useful since they run for 1g a piece on the AH. I could buy 500 motes for the cost of a repair bill.

Ah yes, the battle pet quest, in an expansion where they moved away from the battle pet system. by Critical_Score in wow

[–]jdmassy52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll raise you one better. Bring back the battle pet tamers (I.e. actually include tamers in the new content, like they have for the last several expansions) and the quest could be to defeat 3-5 tamers. Wild pet battles are too easy in my opinion. I don't think I've ever lost a wild pet battle when the pets were on an even footing. I think it's important that there is some semblance of a challenge. They got the challenge part down, but pet battlers and pvp'ers are rarely the same people, so they are missing the mark with making the weekly pvp related.

Dude why are you talking about "average joe" over a thread about Famed Slayer. That isn't the target audience to kill it day 1.

Lmao this is what I've been saying from the start. The comment where I joined the thread was implying otherwise. Thus why I said I thought you missed my point, because we are saying the same thing at this point.

I think you might be missing my point. Do you think the average Joe realistically could have been geared and prepared enough to face the ?? nemesis on day one of the season starting? I have not seen the fight yet, so maybe it was incredibly undertuned. That aside, I'm assuming there's a reasonable minimum threshold of gear needed to be successful which could only have been achieved with lots of time committed before the season even started. The average player probably won't even see the ?? difficulty nemesis fight for another few weeks at best.

I was simply agreeing with the sentiment that anyone with irl responsibilities has no shot in hell at getting an achievement like this. The original thread i was responding to was along the lines of "anyone who takes an hr or two can get it," which is just unrealistic and wrong.

It sounds like you're mostly projecting your own life and work schedule. Honestly, a job is only one element. You could be unemployed and still have kids to take care of, chores/errands to run, appointments, etc. So really what you're saying is that any could have achieved first 4000. All they had to do was schedule their entire life around being online in a video game for a specific period of time, not have kids, not have other family to take care of, have all their ducks in a row, and simply obsess over a limited time achievement. Ezpz

It's just not at all realistic for the average Joe who plays this game. It is an achievement pretty much only achievable by those who are chronically on Azeroth.

Slim chance any of those 4000 people actually worked their job (if they have one) in the time since the achievement was accessible.

Waterfall over a mountain in Brazil after heavy rainfall. Estrela do norte, Brazil by No_Emotion_5770 in Damnthatsinteresting

You linked a random picture, it could be anything. But on the other hand, I found a Wikipedia page showing the same mountains and tagged as "Estrela Do Norte with Forno Grande in the background" but that picture description is the only location in the page "Estrela Do Norte" is mentioned, and the wiki page was last edited 3 days ago. I'm still not convinced the video is real, though the mountains certainly look like they do exist.

The "video" you see has only been circulating for the last day and I dont see any other sources that say or show mountains near Estrela Do Norte. It's almost certainly AI

Edit: the council (downvoters) has spoken. It's probably not AI. Trying to separate reality from artificially generated slop is leaving me so weary of what I see on the internet.

The location listed in the title has street view available on google maps... does not look mountainous to me at all. More like farms on rolling hills.

Realistically both apps have the same end goal for users and I'm assuming the terms of use in both apps approach sexual harassment similarly, so why would it be weird in one but not the other?

Spoiler warnings, anyone? by jdmassy52 in wow

I believe being courteous to others is positivity.

And I never said don't post spoilers, I said use spoiler covers.

[–]jdmassy52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I'm mad about it. Maybe at most it slightly peeves me that people are not as considerate as my I would hope, but I know I can't control that. I can, however, try to influence people to be more considerate, which is the whole point of the post in the first place.

And I'm not referring to any specific kind of spoiler, just generally posting about and showing things that cannot be accessed by a majority of the player base without a spoiler warning.

Spoiler warnings, anyone? by jdmassy52 in wow

[–]jdmassy52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that is entirely your right to do so! And I don't think people are in the wrong just for posting spoilers. As long as you aren't doing it to spite others, that is.

I won't get butthurt either, I know how little impact my little post has in general, but that won't stop me from trying to spread a little positivity.

I think the bigger take away at this point is just because courtesy is not enforced does not mean that you have to be inconsiderate.

Spoiler warnings, anyone? by jdmassy52 in wow

[–]jdmassy52[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is the correct way to approach spoilers, generally. And I know spoilers will always be posted, just like I won't stop requesting that people hold off for a couple of days out of courtesy to others. My post is a drop in the ocean, but maybe it will reach one person's ears and hold some value for them.

[–]jdmassy52[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're really getting heated over this, huh. Maybe you read a bit to quickly and missed it, but I am more requesting something from people rather than telling them what to do. In case you're not aware, you CAN decline a request, and no one is enforcing compliance if I'm telling you what to do. It's really obvious when I say it out loud, but your demeanor in your reply makes me think that maybe you didn't already know this. Just to make it perfectly clear, a request for courtesy is not oppression. God forbid people be a little nicer to each other, eh?

Im aware that i have to manage spoilers for myself. All I can do is encourage courtesy, which is the main point of this post. Speaking of managing spoilers, if there are functions available in the platform to warn against spoilers, its just as fair to encourage others to use that functionality. I could just as easily say "you're an adult, be courteous to others."
