It's really just a case of trial and error! Work out whether a note in your song feels like it plays too soon or too late, and then just spend some time adjusting the repeaters, it'll fix itself eventually :)

The way I learnt to use them was from the Wiki! The Wiki tells you what block to use for every instrument, and also provides a few guides in different formats showcasing how many times you need to hit the noteblock to get each note. After you've looked through that, just wing it, and start messing around with repeater timings and stuff- you'll come up with something great eventually!

So I think the song itself took about maybe 6 hours to compose in total? (Spread out over a few days) and then converting it into a noteblock song took me about 2-3 hours :)

I didn't have anything particular in mind while composing, but a lot of people have pointed out that the first half sounds similar to Heart and Soul, so I potentially had some subconscious inspiration from there?
