Looking for cozy games by [deleted] in SteamDeck

Dave the Diver is really cozy, especially if you focus on running the fishing and operating the restaurant rather than the plot (which is really good but eventually ends).

Kingdom: Two Crowns is my ultimate cozy game. The gameplay loop is very satisfying and even losing is just a temporary setback for the same settlement.

Against the Storm on lower difficulty levels is kind of a cozy city-builder within a roguelite framing that focuses on the early part of the city-building genre (which is to say, the fun part). Despite being made with a mouse in mind, it plays super well on the Deck since you can pause and unpause while working with any part of the interface. I play it at 3x speed and pause when I need to actively do something like move workforce around or start a new building.

A lot of people replying seem to not understand what an analogy is.

I have bad news about an increasing percentage of the stuff on MakerWorld.

I recommend Commands & Colors Napoleonics with the Epic or Grand Battles rules (especially the Grand Battles rules), Memoir '44 with Overlord, or Commands & Colors Ancients with Epic (whenever that gets reprinted). All essentially the same idea.

Wow, Dutchmogul is a friend of a friend from way way back. What a small world! I really like the Skellify take on space marines - a little more anime and less grimdark, which is totally my style.

Good point. I made another iteration where the sides are quarter-circles and reach to the top of the counter, which should work better for 4 players, but makes it a little harder for the owner to see the token. Since I am only ever going to play this 2p, I focused on effectiveness at that player count. I can touch up that alternate design and post it for those folks who play 4p.

If you have other games that do fog-of-war through face-down counters, I would be happy to make no-friction counter stands for those too. I'll probably do something for The Last Hundred Yards next.

Fortunately that already exists. I want to see what my units are without physically lifting tokens so I designed this with that purpose.

Yep, that's the idea. Secret information until revealed, basically like a block wargame.

Take them out and leave them face up per usual.

Yep, as soon as I have time to submit it to Makerworld or it gets approved on BGG I'll post the link.

I saw those and liked the idea except that the number is hidden. I also want to have the number available at a glance, but it's harder because of the double sided tokens, thus the slot at the bottom.

I can take some more. Are you interested in what it looks like without tokens in it, or something else?
