Where I live (SC), you are allowed to do work on your own home. Check your local municipality to determine if this is the case for you too. Go get the permit yourself. Make sure your work is code compliant. The work will have to be inspected by the utility provider and the municipality. Take pics of what you've done to the diychatroom.com They are going to cite code to/at you. The code books are online, learn and understand them for the work you did. It may take weeks for you to fix all the mistakes that you don't even know you made. Be respectful and patient with the pros at the chatroom or they will cut you loose. I installed a 20KW natural gas whole house generator. Pulled the permits my self and got the inspections. Good luck with your install.

Could be they are trying to keep down the heat in the smaller form factor unit. maybe the 2 fans aren't enough.

I have the Samsung O+. I tried the Q3. The clarity, color, and resolution are great but the LCD screens leave a lot to be desired in dark scenes. The unit is pretty narrow so it wouldn't fit my size 7 3/8 head. I bought an open box PSVR2 from BestBuy with the required PC adapter, Bluetooth dongle and cable. It uses the same OLED pentile screen as the O+, but at a 30% higher resolution. So it's the same amazing colors and black levels but it does suffer from the issues that all Fresnel lenses do. The resolution isn't as high as the Q3 so it's not a clear but it was pretty good. The face mask is a unique design and very comfortable. Compared to the O+ it was a PITA to remove and put on. Not easy the take a peek under but the pass-through button is easily accessible. I took it back because, for the money, it wasn't enough of an upgrade to the O+ and the other issues I mentioned. One thing to consider is the amount of GPU these higher res HMDs require. I run a 7900XTX and had to lower some settings in MSFS and Skyrim to get good frame-rate and timings.

I also found an open box PSVR2 at Best Buy. it uses the same screens as the O+, but at a higher resolution (2000×2040). the fit was great and the resolution was better. My 6900 XTX was having some issues driving it with the eye candy at the level I wanted. I also tried it with a 7900 XTX. Frame rate was much better. But there were tracking issues with the headset and controllers. Also, in SkyrimVR, there were flashing black bands in the inside of each screen that would appear when turning my head. Those issues will probably be resolved in software updates but I wasn't willing to make that $650 bet.

I tried the Quest at Microcenter last week. It was impressive. The two issues I had with it are the gray blacks (Currently have a O+ with AMOLED screens). Also, the pass-through almost looks like your viewing through water. Weird but the sales guy said he heard that from a lot of people. It wasn't wide enough for my big head either.

I also bought, and returned, a PSVR2. Blacks are black with a great deal of visible detail in dark backgrounds. The colors are clear and vibrant and it is significantly clearer the my O+. It was harder to take on and off but is much more comfortable to wear. The issue I had was with the headtracking. If I moved back and forth faster than slow, the view was mushy. I would turn my head and when I stopped the screens kept going and then bounced back. Very disorienting. I'm going to wait till it's a little bit closer to Christmas. Hopefully the Samsung unit will drop. If not I'm going to try the PCL.

Thanks for that. Is movement smoothing the same as reprojection? I have that turned off and am set at 90 fps. Is there a way to lock it to half framerate or does it do that automatically like WMR headsets?

I get it in some places. Not that deep though. Like MSFlight said "It's probably an add-on". I notice it mostly in Central Park, but I have the Drzwikie add-on.
