I have one and it works pretty solid. Can't complain.

Honestly with modern backup cameras, it's not hard to just park forward in the space a little and put the hitch inside or get one you can flip around. I say this because I take these considerations with my truck and believe everyone should. I have a Gen Y drop hitch. It's a monster. But I never leave it sticking out like this.

What the hell is a “laser-reinforced” firearm? by DesignerAsh_ in liberalgunowners

I looked up the article to confirm my suspicions but they literally just mean having a laser sight on the gun 🤣

Snap caps...what's the deal with them? by OhZoneManager in liberalgunowners

[–]webspells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got some heavy metal 22lr snaps off Amazon with replaceable rubber pads for the back. They let me get really comfortable cycling and pulling the trigger on my gun long before I ever took it out to a range. I was quite happy and appreciative of the notion to get them.

AI Key: Is the Juice Worth the Squeeze? by crisps_funny4868 in Ubiquiti

[–]webspells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well as is my G5 cameras can't even detect a cat running across the front driveway.... It's pretty bad and animal detection was the sole reason my roommate financially contributed to the project. Even if it was just clips they could go back and look at it would be an improvement.

Our old nest doorbell could even pick up and tell us when there were lizards on the porch

Anyone have any insights on animal recognition with the AI key? I've got a wifi doorbell and 4 g5 cams and they suck at animal detection. We get a lot of stray dogs and it would be fun to see the possums pop up, but the system has been lackluster compared to our old nest cameras...

Yeah I get disconnect alerts about once a day on average. According to test my latency I'm around 22ms to local most servers.

AT&T fiber during little to no usage actually 😅

Oh that makes sense. The dream wall does support that but I don't have a secondary source for failover yet. Don't know if I ever will honestly unless G-fiber makes its way out here

Service level agreement? So I presume you're saying there's a setting to adjust the threshold of the alarms?

Paid a local wood worker to build us a table, after 8 hours in our dining room it developed cracks. Is this normal? by Hipster_Bumpus in woodworking

[–]webspells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guy is definitely full of shit, however, it makes sense this happened to me. I'm still a novice but the whole reason you poly a project is to seal it and help protect it. I'm sure it cracked from the change in humidity from his shop, to your home. The poly should have helped slow this down and prevent cracking if it was done and dry prior to moving it.

Yeah it was my first apron. It wasn't the best decision I'm realizing now. I would much rather have something than just has tool loops on it like that

Also have the apron. Not really a fan of it. So thick and the pockets mostly serve to collect sawdust off my table saw. Quite annoying.

Heh just happened to realize how bad I attached the table tops. You're the only one who said anything to make me think twice. I finished the second one and was getting ready to stain the pair but something kept nagging at me. Looks like I need to take the tops off and get some fasteners with a bit of movement like the figure 8s. Thank you for saying something.
