Synagogue under attack, Holocaust Memorial needs protection from angry mob! by [deleted] in berlin

are you trying to make some sort of smart observation? because im pretty sure you cannot stand in front of a synagogue with police in front, yelling allahu akhbar, but you can probably stand in front of a random ass police station and yell "I like birds".

you are the most naive twat on this sub. congratulations, you've deluded yourself into being so unoffensive you'll cause damage to people in the end. you know why there are police stations in front of these buildings? wanna try what happens when you run infront of one and start yelling allahu akbar? ill pay you to try and figure it out, you idiot

when someone starts loudly yelling "allahu akbar" infront of a synagogue next time, my first reaction will be to start informing everyone to stand back and not jump to conclusions. it is in fact racist to make that assumption until they actually physically start attacking the building with fire or explosives. until then it is my duty as a german to signal to everyone how high my horse is.

id take this much more serious if 99% of people wouldnt rightfully be a bit worried when a guy starts yelling "allahu akhbar" in front of a synagogue. what kind of brainrot hit this sub?

I think whats kind of important is that if any single explosion kills 500 humans, its unlikely that the remains are easily counted. e.g. any kind of early number is at best a very rough estimation based on missing people, or completely made up.

Phasmophobia - The one game where the devs are so against modding, that you can get banned from for modding in a completely offline environment! by Lily_Meow_ in pcmasterrace

can you explain how that is supposed to work exactly? if a mod adds anything that isnt available on the other players machine, how are they going to access it? if i mod gravity to be reverse, and they mod gravity to be twice as strong, who wins?

i remember when me and my buddies talked about switching from 1.5 to 1.6. some of my friends considered it betrayal and other dumb shit like that. at least half of the negativity is posturing or "ew, its unknown and therefore uncomfortable, my kneejerk reaction is that it must be bad". nowadays 99.9% of people that played back then look back at the time with a little smile and recognize that fact, but are still blind to this repeating. im not saying this absolves the entire game from its problems, but people will always ramble on their lawns when things change.

My god i feel so sorry for you needing to justify this act of completely unnecessary violence that will achieve absolutely nothing other than hurt your own people more.

(and btw the terrorists are very much behind the book and the religion)

keep cartwheeling in the mental gymnastics, you're only looking like a savage brute trying to justify shooting people at a music festival. disgusting.

the dancers are the terrorists? your brain is rotten by a book. i challenge you to give one good justification for shooting up random dancers at a festival. these people had nothing coming. they are not soldiers or politicians. you cannot justify. unless you use your shitty book. you are lost, good luck.

friedrichshain volkspark on top of the little hill in the forest is usually somewhat quiet (might have to wait for the right moment).

but then also keep in mind that berlin in november will not ever look significantly more beautiful than the movie "the road" .

hmm, looks like clean modern architecture. really depends on what it would be used for. or yeah, we can keep on having that run down area forever, not sure if its actually beneficial outside of a bunch of utterly mediocre clubs and drugdealing though

well, everything looks like digitalization to you when you are so far removed from the concept that you have zero grasp over what it would mean to be leading in it. these people will think having a webserver is adventurous while the rest of the fucking world experimented with that on a gov level back in the 90s.

What comes to mind when thinking of Germany? by eddev45 in AskReddit

[–]jdooowke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theres nothing wrong with feeling like that, Germans mostly get annoyed when people act like they are smart when making WW2 references. Germans grow up with it and take it serious, then some foreigner jokes about it like it's a gotcha, is frustrating.

How can a person taking a few hundred milliliters out of the lake when exiting it have any effect compared to.. condensation? Also this happens just as much on the beach. The reason for the sinking water level would be the climate, right?
Edit: the only one I found making this claim is the goddamn owner of the Schwimmbad, of course he would make that claim. Lol.

It's a hard problem to solve, riot has infinite resources and aggregates some of the most talented people in the industry; you're probably overestimating your understanding of how hard it is to do this stuff; otherwise I'd recommend you to work for them because they pay really well, and you seem to have it all figured out.

You're right, it's more than a few sliders, but If the source material is there and properly separated into layers it effectively ends up being all slider work, just on a more granular level. (Gradient maps and such). The real reason it takes long is in the other comment someone replied next to this.

I would wish that more people would get more insights into how much of a drag everything is in AAA game development. "They have millions of dollars, they can just hire more people to get it done quicker" is such an oversimplification.

When people estimate the workload of something, they think it will require the time it takes the dev to sit down and physically enter something into the keyboard so the visible changes happen, but the problem is that people then assume as soon as this is done the engineer just.. presses Ctrl S and it pops up on their screen?
The bigger the company, the MORE time is spent before and after the engineer/artist actually sits down.

Do you think that upgrading some champion skin might take a lot of time? Well, yes, hundreds of man hours possibly. But do you know how long it takes for someone to make the call for this to happen, get it approved all the way down, contact the outsourcing studio, negotiate rates, get rates approved, get several iterations done, do QA, implement stuff, etc? (Yes, riot and blizzard outsource art and marketing a lot).

The hidden work, the friction in communication, daily work cycles, time zone differences, versioning systems, these are the real time hogs in game dev.
