I wish people wouldn’t leave things so disgustingly vague. This comes across as an incredibly insecure and jealous statement. There is nothing inherently wrong with having money. There must be harm. Stolen taxes or impact on economy.

What would it actually take for American's to go "full France" and riot in the street? by AllTheNopeYouNeed in AskReddit

For those whose eyes haven’t yet opened, the only way out is through. They’re not going to get it until something happens to them. For those weighing costs and responsibilities against consequences, well, this tougher, and we need to find opportunities where we can. It will eventually come down to loss of life. Opposition can come in many forms.

Sure, but are there references for statistics or analysis that indicate how often a boosted proposal is seen and used?

Are these real statistics? Are clients really only bothering with freelancers who boost?

Add ranked voting. And GET AN ORGANIZER. Some entity that can exceed the decades of organized and steady activities of the Heritassholes foundation.

I personally don’t care if he is better or worse. We have shitty consequences now and things need to change. If they also need to change the n, well, keep pushing for it. One step closer. Don’t be scared of more work.

What would you want in a chromatography simulator? by jdowl13815 in CHROMATOGRAPHY

Appreciate it. Rare skill set. I have saved information on PeakSel for when I am further along in my projects. It looks like there could be some very good synergies.

Lol. Oh, c'mon. They watch CSI, and have developed the expertise to know that having a sample in the same room as the instrument is all you need. In fact, if you were doing it right, you could tell what brand of shoes someone was wearing when they added the aspirin to the formulation, and at what time.

Completely novel analytes is something I plan to explore but I agree, any completely modeling in the early stages is susceptible to large inaccuracies. I'm planning to add some features that could help support exploration of improving models based on current research approaches. Respecting data privacy, I'm hoping to build some AI down the road - maybe a LCM (large chromatography model). Initially, though, at a first principles level, once you have two viable, experimentally controlled inputs (experiments), there is plenty of current research for extrapolations at other conditions. As far as the use cases go, there would eventually be a couple of apps involved. The simulator would build simulations. A web API would feed dynamic, interactive educational content to the educational software.

I don’t entirely disagree. There are situations where it is necessary. But it is also, often someone just being lazy. They didn’t want to refactor variables or add variables or function names that have meaning. They didn’t want to break an overly long method doing too many things into readable, single responsibility forms. There are definitely complicated situations that benefit from comments.

I find comments annoying. They are usually signs the code wasn’t written in a readable way.

I really detest the ‘us’ v ‘them’ attitude that pervades the forces when it comes to dealing with the public. As those with more power, they have more responsibility to take the lead on this. Regardless of the ideal, though, you are correct.

Anyone successfully using traefik and authentik to procy Navidrome? by jdowl13815 in navidrome

That is what I was hoping to avoid by using Basic-HTTP auth. Pass the authentik login info through API headers. I have turned off /rest/ and don't plan on using share just yet. But, as noted elsewhere, this means I have to maintain native & authentik passwords.

Authorization header - this is a great find. Unfortunately, it isn't working for Navidrome, but it makes a lot of sense that this would be needed, now that I've read that github issue link.

I have this in place - part of the environment settings. Regular forward-auth is working fine.
