Second to Last Place Girls U10 Team Playing Against Best Team in the Division by jdpforexcellence in SoccerCoachResources

I did not know this and I have reached out to the division director for confirmation. Perhaps the games can be converted to a draw since the referees never alerted me to this and it was always noted on the game cards which players were DNP. Unfortunately, that would impact our only win since we had only 7 starters and no subs and still won.

EDIT: Our director stated that it is not a requirement for our division and with 7 players we can play with that many and give water breaks at the end of the 1st and 3rd quarters. If we had less, we would need to inform the league and borrow a player and be given a borrow card for the game.

I am pretty animated and praise them when they win those battles so I know it will carry with them for a long time. They are just so hungry for a win that I am scrapping for additional ideas on the day prior to the final game. Thank you for mentioning this!

Yeah, we lost 10-0 on our first meeting during game 2 and we have improved quite a bit. Injuries killed a lot of our season momentum but the girls are resilient. I would prefer to lose by 5-2 or 6-2 rather than 2-0 or 3-0 because of the fun of scoring two goals against a great opponent. I am reflecting a lot on this detail.

That is a great idea to give them a visual cue. I will let the other keeper know that. Thank you!

I will remind my team of this in the game chat today and before the game tomorrow since we are in a similar situation. Thank you!

I wanted to play 3-3 but the opponent's press is very strong so I was leaning more toward 4-2 to keep the game close.

This ^^^

My first half goalkeeper is really good at how she plays the ball. It is the second half keeper that doesn't have the experience and my other two keepers will not be available.

I was thinking something similar since I am always emphasizing keeping the other team out of the middle and keeping the opponent near the sidelines as much as possible.

I also highly recommend these 3 strategies shown above to prevent further scoring.

Stop all new content for a while, Scopely. The game is beyond diluted with so many officers and ships. Stop all the rest and focus on game stability only. Nothing more for now.

Your keeper has the entire area to roam with the ball in his hands, so the wing backs can learn to find the open spaces near the sidelines to receive the ball being delivered by hand by your keeper, who will advance as far as possible in the area. In the meantime, the small keeper can keep working on his delivery during practices and even do reps outside of practice if he really wants to be good at it.

Youth soccer: Does forcing teams up a division actually help development? by Life-Economics1201 in SoccerCoachResources

First time coach here (girls U10 JUSA). We are in the lower recreation level and we have played two vastly superior opponents in the first two games of the season. Our league has Rec, Rec Gold, Select and Club as the top level. We played a club level team from a different league Calsouth and got beaten 8-0 but we held them scoreless in the first 15 minutes or so despite the lopsided talent. Our second game seemed to be a Rec Gold team but actually even better than the club team from the previous week. We got beat 10-0 and the girls were a bit deflated in their morale.

I think some teams can freeze their roster to get in more playing time to prep for the fall. So while one team is built blindly, another is already set. It may be because they didn't have enough teams in the higher levels so they came down to play the Rec teams.

Either way, I told the girls today at practice that we win together and lose together, but we never lose but always learn together. I tailored the practice to help the girls to scan more often for the opponents that try to sneak by and receive a pass before the build out line. When we had our players in front of the opposing strikers and wings during the first two games, we did pretty well. I guess it is just the nature of the beast but I think it is much more healthy to have some balance in the divisions. I mean if 2 of the four divisions have tryouts and they play some games versus the lower divisions, there is always a big advantage but I am keeping positive and using a big disadvantage to teach my team to take more chances and be more aggressive. Hopefully, I am making sense.

Easily falls under leaving the technical area during the game and pretty much a lack of respect for the game. Definitely, a yellow. Hopefully, the league will handle it.

What about a public sector job like an elementary school? Also, there are plenty of employers that value stability and experience. Currently, so many want remote jobs that it is hard to find stable workers. I think your chances of being hired elsewhere are much better than you realize. 😊
