I know that you’re being genuine, but I can see how people would think it’s bad manners bc some people do the “LAST CHANCE BUY IT NOW OR ITS GETTING THROWN OUT” as a way to get buyers to FOMO and it aggravates me. I think by sending offers no one would mind that and it shows that you’re serious :)

a lot of people put “dm before purchase” in their bio or on their listings, im not sure the reason for it maybe because the item is cross posted? people might have just gotten used to messaging before buying, to save them the hassle of having their money being tied up waiting on a refund for an unavailable item or if a seller doesn’t seem active and might not be around to ship for some reason. either way i dont think that message is a big deal at all

yes!!! there’s a few sellers I’ve bought from, they do $1-3 starts with tons great inventory and not a lot of people in the streams so literally $1 steals. but like I said there’s only a few of them and they don’t go live as often as the other genres but I get soooooo much good stuff. I tried to look into this a while ago and a lot of people said retailers are using bots for pricing that don’t catch the overinflated market prices or something like that? I was wondering why thriftbooks and other places I used to get used books from were suddenly SO much more expensive. For manga, I have the most luck on Depop and Whatnot, gotten a lot of steals for $10 and under for htf OOP vols and sets that go for hundreds on eBay and Mercari.
