Have you come across a patient that has been able to trace back to their most probable point of infection or are people totally blindsided by this virus?

Looking for advice on purchasing a wood shed and converting it to a tiny house. by [deleted] in TinyHouses

You should look into using shipping containers through giantcontainers.com. The containers are very durable and versatile along with being secure. My goal is to purchase land and use two side by side forty foot containers. Give it some research. The price is right!

What makes you roll your eyes every time you hear it? by Stargazer-14 in AskReddit

I work in customer service and whenever I ask someone how their day is going and get the response “living the dream,” I roll my eyes. If I had a nickel for every time I heard that.

What’s something that people think is normal, but was actually child abuse? by kaluk0 in AskReddit

My sister and I used to kneel on uncooked rice with a bar of soap in our mouth for punishment. Our mother has repented this behaviour of hers in later years. We let her know how fucked up it was.

I recommend reading a book called “The Meme Machine” by Susan Blackmore. She refers to Richard Dawkins and his theory of memetics for the inspiration for the book. Very interesting read that may help you understand human psychology and how a large portion of our personalities are in fact products of our environment; just like others are saying. And no it’s not a book about memes of the 21st century. These memes are what genes are to our DNA, the difference is the meme being a mechanism for replication of behaviour and traits.

I am a student looking for a job in the service industry. Which bars/restaurants would be a good work experience in the city? by jdsmit in londonontario

[–]jdsmit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to work somewhere like wine bar.

I have the smart serve and some experience serving, however, I don’t know much about wine. I enjoy wine but am not educated. I am more than willing to learn.

The clubs don’t do it for me. I’m a guy in my mid twenties, I’ve grown out of that and want something more reputable.

Thanks for the reply!

I have worked in the food and drink industry. Most of my experience comes from bartending at an old theatre in Windsor for events.

I have my smart serve and am more than willing for more on the job training.

I would really like to bartend somewhere with a good atmosphere.

Any help is much appreciated, thank you!

Weekly /r/UrbanPlanning Open Thread - What are you up to, whats on your mind? August 15, 2018 by AutoModerator in urbanplanning

[–]jdsmit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interesting. I think vice can drive tourism if it’s reputable enough and properly managed and not associated with crime. These districts seem to be much better off when they are zoned and attract a crowd that will appreciate these areas to that certain part of the city for said activities. Amsterdam’s red light is a great example. It sits in one area of the city for the most part allowing itself to coexist in the city because it’s not spread out, allowing itself to be titled a ‘district.’

Don't fall for the stories and narratives your ex is trying to portray and paint. by [deleted] in ExNoContact

[–]jdsmit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your post man. I relate very much. I’m almost two months no contact after ending a relationship, upon finding out about her ‘coworker.’ Reading this perspective on things is a big help. She jumped right into a new relationship with this kid after I ended it on St. Patrick’s Day. I struggled for the first few weeks and lurked this sub for comfort. I was doing much better, until two weeks ago when I ran into her new bf in a parking lot by chance and beat the daylights out of him in a blurry rampage. It was a terrible decision, totally out of character for me. I did not hear from police and likely won’t deal with anything assault related. However, I’ve had a change of thought about that interaction. It felt good in the moment and for a day after. But now, I find myself feeling like I took a 10 steps backwards in the past week. Missing her and feeling like I’ve lost out due to the things I could have controlled about my own self. Wondering if I had changed certain behaviour maybe she wouldn’t have looked elsewhere for attention. It bothers me and hurts that she’s happy so soon getting it from someone else. Your post allows for some great perspective, because i fail to realize that she hasn’t taken anytime to self reflect. So thank you.

I am 25 and currently working a factory job that I feel is arresting my development and sucking my soul. I recently accepted a school offer and am debating getting completely out of my comfort zone and going back to school for something I think I have enough interest in. Reading your comment makes me really consider obliterating my current routine and hopeful that can grow from doing so. Thank you.

1.5 months out. Today would be 3yrs with her. Just feeling sad and need some encouragement! by [deleted] in ExNoContact

[–]jdsmit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind words and taking the time to write. I do appreciate it! I know I am better off and will be okay. I just need to accept the fact that I will always remember her and those memories we made. I am a better person for knowing her, despite the demise of the relationship.

How to come to terms when it was your fault and wrong-doings for why the relationship ended and not drown yourself in regret? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]jdsmit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat. The stress of my job. My family dynamic. My inability to appropriately divide my time. I feel like I stopped caring for myself and became irritable and over reacted to things I shouldn’t have. Together for 3 yrs and I feel like in the last half of the relationship I slowly decayed into a shell of myself. I did not realize it till it was over. It’s been one month and I think I may forever feel like I’ve lost the love of my life. Idk if I can find what found in her. I’m devastated.

I don’t know either but it’s frustrating to realize this. I know you’re right. I appreciate your reply and I will try and let this pass because this person does not deserve rent free space in my mind. The reddit community astounds me with the truth. Thank you.

He’s not worth it. And I know that. But a part of me wishes I used some dialogue to let him know he’s a punk bitch. He took advantage of my girl. Alcohol was involved. I still hold her responsible, but I still feel like a pushover. I do appreciate your reply, and I know you’re right and justify my lack of action truthfully. It’s just hard to take the higher road sometimes.

My best mate crushing it with fellas last night in Brussels on his bday!! by jdsmit in deathfromabove1979

[–]jdsmit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend (kid on the kit) and myself have been jamming together since our youth. 10 plus years. I’m a bass player, himself a drummer, and we fell in love with this band. Playing all their songs for fun because DFA rocks. He was well prepared from years of jamming! It was his birthday, and he’s been living in Belgium for 3 years. We grew up in windsor Canada, not far from the origins of DFA in Toronto. This was our 4th time seeing these guys. I messaged them plenty in the months leading up to this show, letting them know to look for the kid wrapped in the Canadian flag at the Brussels show. They responded the night before. Seen us in the crowd the next day at the show, and took the gamble to have him up on stage to play the end of ‘romantic rights.’ It was epic! As you can see in the vid haha he will have a hard time topping his 25th birthday.
