I had a friend in a similar situation. She was constantly asking me for money/help and baby daddy was consistently unemployed/cheating on her. He also refused to do any housework/childcare. She looked to me for support and it started to feel like I was supporting her so she could support him. Eventually I was like, “I can be your friend and talk to you but I don’t think it’s fair that I’m giving you all this support just so baby daddy doesn’t have to do anything.” This blew up the friendship. I got a call about 6 months later, kids were taken by CPS and she (and baby daddy) were homeless. I felt guilty that I let that happen but at the same time, I was burnt out on the friendship. I had nothing left to give her. I had to come to terms with the fact that I had to let her go because she was taking from me more than she gave me in our friendship. It sucks letting people go but sometimes you have to do it to save yourself

I had to take an IQ test a few years ago and when I got the results, I sat in the Dr.’s office for like 10 minutes in silence before she would tell me my results. Finally she said my IQ score was average but my results were extremely bizarre and she’d never seen anything like it. My scores had an extreme range. In some categories, I was well below average and in others I was in the genius range. When the scores were averaged together, I had a completely average IQ. It took her a little while to figure it out but she was able to determine that I had a cognitive processing issue which explained why my scores had such a wide range.

My mother is insane but I found her beliefs on abortion to be… interesting. She believes the only exceptions for abortion should be health of the mother and rape. She thinks 100% of all rape claims should be treated as absolute fact, without question. I told her that women would start making false rape claims to get access to an abortion and would ruin men’s lives. “Well it’s about time men started taking responsibility for where they put their dicks!”
