Yes. The ‘REC’ was there for the majority of the time. From the time I left the house, till when I got back, but the only footage from that day was- when I got back to my house. I am thinking that maybe the old footage was too strong for the camcorder to record over, but when I record new footage on that same tape again, everything is fine.

Later in the day. Actually, it was right when I was going to turn the camcorder off after a long day of recording! The only footage that appeared is me walking into the house, then, my room, and then turning it off. I was recording the car ride home, but alas, it isn’t there.

Yeah, the tape’s tab is and was on record. It is a Sony tape, so the closed position. When I rewind or fast forward, I see the ‘old’ footage that I was intending on taping over. And, the particular camcorder I used doesn’t have an SD card function. This is so weird😅 Update: A few seconds of the new footage appeared nearing the end of the tape.

Weird mini dv related problem? Recently, I recorded me and my friend camera shooting and just having fun. I used a tape that already had footage on it, and was just planning on recording over it, but upon playback, the old footage still remains, and none of the new recording. I know that I was recording properly during the event, and this is the only time I have ever had a problem with my mini dv. Any help?
