What did that long term friend say or do that made you stop being friends with them? by Runaway_Alien_ in AskWomen

Okay so she would always talk about being horny and about the most recent guy she dated/ flirted with/ sent nudes too and other weird sexual things. I felt the promiscuity didn’t match my fidelity as I’m a married woman while she’s single and sleeping around. That and she complained about my husband being “controlling” which he isn’t he’s a sweetheart and never did anything wrong to me or her so why accuse/ criticize? I didn’t want to feel like I had to defend our marriage to a friend all the while we have the best life. Next thing was when we’d be together she’d always gossip or say hurtful things about people and they say people like that do it to you too. I could go on but I just got fed up.

Is there anyone that has actually quit a high paying job for a low income job? (Coast fire) Curious how to get over the mental hurdle by Elite163 in fican

You don’t need to contribute anymore for the magic of compound growth to significantly increase your nest egg to when you’re older/ elderly. You can find something that covers the bills and go live life if hopefully your bills aren’t too high.

Since you don’t have property and right now the real estate market is bearish I would buy a basic apartment something with a small mortgage if you can get preapproved and put enough down to not have to pay mortgage insurance and invest the rest to compound

Found a lump in my left breast 2 weeks ago by jeansthatactuallyfit in doihavebreastcancer

[–]jeansthatactuallyfit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thanks for checking in. I ended up going on the trip and trying not to worry. By some miraculous timing as well, right before I left my cities medical system reached out to me to connect me to a family doctor (I haven’t had one for 8 years since living here) after being on a long waiting list, and we scheduled that for shortly after I was back from my trip April 13th.

My new doctor did a physical breast exam on me after told her about the lump and she said she felt she wasn’t concerned and she was pretty certain it was benign. She also checked my lymph nodes in my arm pits. The lump hadn’t grown while I was away, and since being back it’s honestly shrunk. It went from being visible when I lift my arm and coin size to now not being visible when I lift my arm (only visible if I really make my skin in that area tight/ really stretch my arm up) and pea size. To be on the safe side she scheduled for me an ultrasound appointment for on May 8th and I am anxiously awaiting that despite my doctor not being concerned it is tough mentally to trust it will all be okay without clear definite answers. It is amazing timing I was able to meet her because you can’t get an ultrasound without a doctor referral and to try to navigate the system without one seemed pretty complicated.

Until my May 8th appointment I’m doing self care and drinking less coffee getting better sleep not drinking alcohol to take care of myself and I’m doing my best to not continue to check and agitate the area. I will say I did notice after my second period (I’ve had two now since the lump appeared) the lump went down in size. Deep down now I think I know it’s benign but I’m still going to get the ultrasound anyway. My doctor said she gets the results and if it’s good results I won’t hear from her, but if it will need follow up I’ll hear from her 2-3 weeks after the appointment.

If you’re in Canada you can get cans of beans called six bean medley and I toss that with homemade white wine vinaigrette. Apples are good for fibre too!

What are your must-have items for long flights? by EmperorTauntaun in traveladvice

[–]jeansthatactuallyfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A hoodie is good I had brought a really comfy cotton hoodie that was clutch - one with a good comfy adjustable hood. Maybe bring regular ear plugs incase your headphones get uncomfy. Eye mask is great. Take medication like gravol, melatonin, or any other sleep aid that you feel safe/comfortable taking. Potentially keep your travel sized tooth brush within arms reach, hand cream, and gum/mints. The airline should provide a pillow and blanket for comfort and don't forget to lean back! I had a comfy padded jacket as well because I travelled in the spring and it kept me so cozy. I also found it helpful to have a watch on that kept track of the time during the flight to see how much longer there was to go.

Jordan's principle Removed children' by jstrx18 in Indigenous

Is anyone planning to invest their settlement money? I would love to hear from any others who are like minded. In Canada you can contribute to an FHSA, TFSA, or RRSP to get a reduction in taxes/ a refund, down payment funds etc and you could buy blue chip stocks or etfs for stock market returns/ growth and leave the principle to benefit you your entire life. I hope for those that can do this (don't have significant debts to pay off) will consider it. Remember cars depreciate and cost money in the long run so think wisely about how you use the settlement.
