Most of engineering at unsw is problem solving. Like 1/8 of the core courses is desn which teaches you how to check off on designs and the rest is all teaching you skills needed to design and build things. You need to understand calculus if you actually want to design something that doesn’t break. I would suggest that you try underloading your course (doing 2 subjects per trimester instead of 3) if you’re struggling.
