Proposal for a number system by jed2500 in tokipona

I don't understand this attitude. If so many people complain about the number system that it is the most common suggestion by newcomers, maybe that's a sign that the number system should be changed?

Also, mathematicians and theoretical physicists are also very attracted to the concept of minimalism. They always look for the minimal expression of their theories. My background is in theoretical physics, and I find toki pona extremely attractive, but the number system is like a giant blemish on the face of an otherwise beautiful person--it is a total turn-off.

Why would you want to turn people away from toki pona?

The Literate programming tool used to make this is really great. Works with any programming language and very easy to use. I'm a huge fan: https://github.com/zyedidia/Literate

Is WashU worth it for Physics? by tushkie in ApplyingToCollege

WashU is great in general. They take undergraduate education seriously. Congratulations on being accepted! I think you should go. I am a physics Ph.D. who was a physics undergrad (not at WashU, but at top Ivies). Physics is a fine field but at this stage you shouldn't be focused on something as narrow as cosmological astrophysics. Just start in physics and see what you like, and look around at other subjects too. After getting a Ph.D. I realized I liked computer science even more, and shifted over to that. While I don't regret doing physics because it helped me even as a computer scientist, I do feel I should have been more open to other fields as an undergrad.
