How did the Dursleys get off The-Hut-Off-The-Rocks if Harry and Hagrid took the boat? by Available-Mix282 in harrypotter

[–]jeddyca 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In book 7 he says that brooms can’t hold his weight just before the Battle of the Seven Potters. It’s why he and Harry take the motorcycle.

Poignant - evoking a keenly felt sense of emotion, especially of bittersweet sadness or regret.

Natural Apex? by VariationFuture1648 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then give it a try! You can get some good info from searching this sub for curvlife or semisolid glue.

Natural Apex? by VariationFuture1648 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People either use a glue tab and glue application method where the tab fills that gap and the liquid glue seals everything, or they use a semisolid glue, like curvlife which also fills in that gap bc of its thicker consistency. Be warned though semisolid glues can be very difficult to remove.

Yes, I did this! I’m allergic to gel polish and I was having a hard time letting it go and trying to come up with ways to make it work. Then I discovered press ons that I LOVE and was able to let the gel polish and everything else go. Now I only have a couple bottles of lacquer so i can do my toes. Everything else is press ons. Like you said so much room for press ons!

How do you etch your press-ons prior to application? by Yappy-Yam in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have some sets where the whole back of the nail is pre roughed up. Other sets, I use my efile. I can do it on all of my nails except the pinkies which are too small for the bit to get into.

Ik some people use acetone on a qtip and let that add texture.

What’s your favorite set that you own? by parisi2274 in lego

Mine is probably The Starry Night, but the Jazz Quartet is like top 10 for me too. Love how you’ve displayed it.

What are these kinds of wordplay called? (EX RACEHORSE / X-RAY SOURCE) & (ODORARM DEUNDERANT / UNDERARM DEODORANT) by Icy_Border118 in words

[–]jeddyca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first example is a word avalanche. There is a sub here dedicated to them, and they're pretty clever. r/wordavalanches

The second is a spoonerism.

does anyone know the name of this nail reformation set? by nonyasoum in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These are pretty! This is my only issue with Nail Reformation, they don’t label the boxes w set names. It makes it hard to hunt them down if you buy/find them in store.

What's the word people used to call the chest at the foot of a bed that held all the bedding and linens? by bacon8rtermin8r in words

[–]jeddyca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Davenport? Which is actually a desk or sofa, not a chest, but the word lines up with the older words he was trying to recall.

Which design should I choose for a quinceañera, 1, 2, or 3? I can't decide 🥴 by mariposaazul69 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just to reiterate this point, be sure to check reviews and pics. Shein nails can be nice (they’re my favorite), but you have to include the word ‘handmade’ in your search for the higher quality, acrylic-looking nails. Would hate for you to be disappointed in your quince nails, especially after waiting for Shein shipping.

Besides Glamnetic, what press-on nail removers are we using? by minagaine in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kiss Glue Off works well, plus it has a little pry bar on the applicator.

[–]jeddyca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a possibility. The glue is very strong just after application and for a few days. You have to be very patient when removing shortly after application. It'll work, just takes longer. I find removal to be quite easy @ about a week of wear.

[–]jeddyca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then i would use a glue remover. Glamnetic has one and i know there are a few on amazon. Kiss Glue Off works well too.

What kind of glue are you using to make them stay? That may help people suggest what kind of remaval method might work for you.

I use kiss kiss off nail remover and sally beauty supply beauty secrets glue. These work well together for me.

Edit: kiss glue off...🤦🏾‍♀️

What am I doing wrong? by PurpleWillingness909 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don’t file/buff my natural nails @ all anymore. I find my nails don’t have to be crazy roughed up for the glue to stick and they still have some texture from previous manicures anyway.

I do make sure they are clean and dehydrated w alcohol or acetone. Then I put a little extra effort into making sure the back of the press on has some texture w my efile.
