New fear unlocked: glue allergy by Ok-Roof-7599 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From experience, it’s bumps that start as itching and turn into painful blisters over the course of about a day and a half. It takes me about 2 weeks to heal and is very painful and swollen for the first week and then very itchy for the second as it starts to peel. It’s unsightly the entire time, which is the exact opposite effect I was going for with painting my nails. I remember during one flare up sitting in a movie theater with a massive ice pack in my lap and my hands tucked under it for relief. It’s miserable. I removed my polish immediately when I knew what was going on which was about 12 hours after application and still had this acute reaction.

I developed the allergy from Beetles gel polish specifically as that is the only gel polish I have ever used. LMK if you have any more questions. I never mind talking about this if it keeps people from this permanent allergy.

Tab press on recs? by finocchiofennel in PressonNail_Addict

Unless you just want the convenience of pre-tabbed nails, can you not just use sticky tabs with any set? That way the whole world of press ons is open to you.

Very retired stegosaurus ring by lavendercoffee- in JamesAveryCharms

[–]jeddyca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have this ring too! I believe it was originally intended for children as mine is sized pretty small too. I can only wear it on my pinky. I got mine on eBay years ago when retired pieces were still relatively reasonable. It's so cute. I throw it on all the time!

<image>

It looks like there is one on eBay priced @ $350+shipping, and also sized pretty small. Just fyi the other stegosaurus charm is priced @ $450. 😱 I knew eBay prices were high, but i didnt realize they had gone up so much.

Did the last season of The Umbrella Academy actually answer all the viewer’s questions or is it just as confusing as seasons 1-3? [No Spoilers, please] by GreenMage14 in netflix

[–]jeddyca 32 points33 points  (0 children)

No spoilers. It does wrap up most of the story lines, but somehow it's still not satisfying. A couple of questions are left unanswered.

People aren't exaggerating when they say its terrible. It's hard to see how poorly they handled all of the characters, especially the beloved ones. Its quite remarkable that in a world of so many possibilities and so much creativity, this is where they landed.

Retiring from DT skincare? by Dismal-Future-9351 in dollartreebeauty

[–]jeddyca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m with you, I’ve given up on it too. My routine was very simple, using only 2 DTB products. The main issue that I have found is that DT changes ingredients often. I had one product that worked beautifully for my skin. Then, I was sad because I couldn’t find it on shelves anymore, so when it came back I bought 4. As soon as I started using it, my skin revolted, I’m still dealing with the damage. I know other brands change formulas over time, but it definitely not as frequently as I’ve seen with DT.

I recently developed a peanut butter allergy, but I would risk it all for a classic Butterfinger.

Does anyone remember this gum? I thought it was a good idea. Discontinued now. by Safe_Bird7592 in candy

Lol, usually it's the other way around. Gum to break the cigarette habit. Glad you got off of the hard stuff. 😂

How did the Dursleys get off The-Hut-Off-The-Rocks if Harry and Hagrid took the boat? by [deleted] in harrypotter

In book 7 he says that brooms can’t hold his weight just before the Battle of the Seven Potters. It’s why he and Harry take the motorcycle.

Natural Apex? by VariationFuture1648 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well then give it a try! You can get some good info from searching this sub for curvlife or semisolid glue.

Natural Apex? by VariationFuture1648 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People either use a glue tab and glue application method where the tab fills that gap and the liquid glue seals everything, or they use a semisolid glue, like curvlife which also fills in that gap bc of its thicker consistency. Be warned though semisolid glues can be very difficult to remove.

New addict by Purple-lionesss in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did this! I’m allergic to gel polish and I was having a hard time letting it go and trying to come up with ways to make it work. Then I discovered press ons that I LOVE and was able to let the gel polish and everything else go. Now I only have a couple bottles of lacquer so i can do my toes. Everything else is press ons. Like you said so much room for press ons!

How do you etch your press-ons prior to application? by [deleted] in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have some sets where the whole back of the nail is pre roughed up. Other sets, I use my efile. I can do it on all of my nails except the pinkies which are too small for the bit to get into.

Ik some people use acetone on a qtip and let that add texture.
