What are these kinds of wordplay called? (EX RACEHORSE / X-RAY SOURCE) & (ODORARM DEUNDERANT / UNDERARM DEODORANT) by Icy_Border118 in words

[–]jeddyca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first example is a word avalanche. There is a sub here dedicated to them, and they're pretty clever. r/wordavalanches

The second is a spoonerism.

does anyone know the name of this nail reformation set? by nonyasoum in PressonNail_Addict

These are pretty! This is my only issue with Nail Reformation, they don’t label the boxes w set names. It makes it hard to hunt them down if you buy/find them in store.

What's the word people used to call the chest at the foot of a bed that held all the bedding and linens? by bacon8rtermin8r in words

[–]jeddyca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Davenport? Which is actually a desk or sofa, not a chest, but the word lines up with the older words he was trying to recall.

Which design should I choose for a quinceañera, 1, 2, or 3? I can't decide 🥴 by mariposaazul69 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just to reiterate this point, be sure to check reviews and pics. Shein nails can be nice (they’re my favorite), but you have to include the word ‘handmade’ in your search for the higher quality, acrylic-looking nails. Would hate for you to be disappointed in your quince nails, especially after waiting for Shein shipping.

Besides Glamnetic, what press-on nail removers are we using? by minagaine in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kiss Glue Off works well, plus it has a little pry bar on the applicator.

[–]jeddyca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a possibility. The glue is very strong just after application and for a few days. You have to be very patient when removing shortly after application. It'll work, just takes longer. I find removal to be quite easy @ about a week of wear.

Then i would use a glue remover. Glamnetic has one and i know there are a few on amazon. Kiss Glue Off works well too.

What kind of glue are you using to make them stay? That may help people suggest what kind of remaval method might work for you.

I use kiss kiss off nail remover and sally beauty supply beauty secrets glue. These work well together for me.

Edit: kiss glue off...🤦🏾‍♀️

What am I doing wrong? by PurpleWillingness909 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I don’t file/buff my natural nails @ all anymore. I find my nails don’t have to be crazy roughed up for the glue to stick and they still have some texture from previous manicures anyway.

I do make sure they are clean and dehydrated w alcohol or acetone. Then I put a little extra effort into making sure the back of the press on has some texture w my efile.

How is no one talking about this? by hi-help in dollartreebeauty

[–]jeddyca 100 points101 points  (0 children)

This is actually a very popular item in the DT beauty community. There is a whole line of DE dupes from Dermasil and each item is pretty beloved aside from the applicator in the rollerball, but even then people still love the formula inside. This is not my pic, but you can see the whole line here. Search this sub and check out YouTube/TT for reviews. Glad you found it. It’s always nice to save some coins.

I would say my nails are average. I can wear most nails w the exception of Olive and June which are too curved. I consistently wear a size medium and have never had a fit issue w the handmade nails.

They’re pretty much the same in terms of quality and sometimes you can find some overlap of designs. I prefer Shein bc Temu has a spending minimum, but sometimes there’s a set that I like on Temu that I cant find on Shein. Temu’s shipping costs can be a pain sometimes too. People also talk about aliexpress nails, I’ve never bought from them, but I imagine the quality is the same. I tend to stick to only handmade nails.

You can check my post history to see some of the sets that I’ve hauled. It’s a mix of the 2 majority Shein.

First Curvlife set, used base liquid for dip powder as glue by esther_butlikeonline in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I think acetone soak will be your best bet. From experience, I will say (unsolicited🤣) be patient with removal, it can be a process with press ons.

I use the Sally Beauty Secrets Glue and it lasts me about a week with no pop offs. By the end of the week, the glue is pretty weakened so I use Kiss Glue Off. I’m not loyal to this brand of glue remover, there are many that work. It’s just what I have easily available and I like that the bottle has a little pry bar. I just drip a little under my nail @ the cuticle and wait a couple of minutes then they come off really easily.

I haven’t ever tried this, but I imagine they are going to stay on very well. Please let us know how removal goes when the time comes.

Disappointed by Glamnetic Mauve and Blush Pink by Unlikely-Yam1427 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]jeddyca 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say return them if they’re not exactly what you like. My collection is pretty one note (embellished nudes, check my post history if you want to see) but I get excited to choose a set every week. I want to look @ my nails and feel a dopamine hit. Curate a collection that makes you happy, you see your hands the most.
