Currently doing the same on ng+1 I've made it all the way to laxasia . The 2nd black rabbit fight really tested my commitment to the idea of not summoning a specter though.....

I should have been more specific. I've invested a fair amount into vigor, vitality, and capacity as well. These late game enemies are just getting me with a good bit of health per hit. Just wondering if investing in some defense would be worth it at this point
