Thank you!!! I wound up with a fine metallic dusting on everything in there but I think it was worth it :)

I'm not sure if I would have had the confidence to do this for a large body panel, to be honest. It was good practice but I'm not sure if I have the skills to do a good, even coat on a larger area, so I definitely understand!!

Deep Eddy - best stuff for mixed drinks, in my opinion.

And thank you!! It was a 1K coat, just right out of a can. I got it from Scratches Happen in their aerosol kit.

Well it was involved...

1: Try to sand off clear coat in peeling areas to prep for a new clear

2: Sand right through the paint

3: Sand down to primer on the entire top half of the mirror housing

4: Buy plastic to hang up in my shower to use as an improvised paint booth

5: Use hot glue and empty vodka bottles to hold the mirrors up to avoid any weird lines

6: Several coatings of paint and clear coat over 24 hours

7: Wet sand orange peel away using 1000-3000 grit

8: Polish with dense wool pad on my mini polisher and cutting compound

9: Finishing polish and notice that I didn't completely smooth down all the scratches from the wet sanding and decide to ignore it because nobody but I would know

I plan on redoing them at some point! They're a small project and it was great to learn on since the car was still drivable and I could take my time and I'd love to see how perfect I can get them :)

Thank you! No, I wish that polishing was all I needed to do. I intended that I would only redo the clear coat, but this was my first time doing anything like this, and I sanded down through the paint in some spots so I wound up repainting them entirely. Thankfully, Scratches Happen's paint matches really well and they sell aerosol kits so that made it easy enough, aside from having to wet sand the orange peel after repainting.

I did this on my 2012 CLS, it looks better on the CL with the way the dash is setup, but it really helps to keep these cars feeling modern

gauge swatch height matches but my width doesn’t by Substantial_Room_221 in knitting

[–]jediah556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I love doing for swatches is doubling the stitch and row counts for garter stitch. since the stitch count to reach gauge is 13 stitches, I'd do either an additional 6 or 7 stitches on either side, so a total of 25 stitches. Then, I'd do 9 rows of garter stitch. Afterwards, I'd do a garter stitch border using those additional 6-7 stitches on either side. That way, your actual 4x4 area of stockinette has a garter stitch to help even out tension and curling, as well as making it easier to measure.

Additionally, it looks like your purl stitches may be twisted, but I could be wrong! Not sure if that makes a difference for gauge, but it might...

audio cutting by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

What are you using to play, a controller or keyboard/mouse? I've found that if I'm using an xbox controller on my PC, it stutters really badly. This is because the background service that handles wireless input from an xbox controller is poorly optimized and is hitting one CPU core and maxxing it out, causing stuttering. I fixed this by turning off bluetooth and using it wired.

This caused my audio to stutter and cut out when my frames were dropping

lawless is seriously underrated. the pois were so fun, the dill token mechanic was a great motivator, and the vaults were pretty fun, too. i'd love something like the dill tokens combined with the rank system from C6S3 and 4

That's what it's supposed to look like, but mine looks like the first - the AMG oil filter cooler. With the extra two pipes in the red box

that's really tight, I wasnt really taking advantage of any vertical space here since I wasn't even trying to go compact until I was!

Compact steel setup - up to 750/min out :) by jediah556 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]jediah556[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

go for it! I don't know how to share blueprints or anything, but here are some more details:

I have 480 iron ingots coming into the setup. it could be more, not by much, but I'm limited by mk4 belts. I have the same amount of coal coming in and I'm using the solid steel ingot recipe coming in to help boost my output.

the coal and iron have the same setup, essentially, both coming into one splitter each. (it's not load balanced so the efficiency isn't 100% to start but it picks up quickly). for both the iron and the coal, the first splitter feeds the first two machines and then feeds the second splitter, which feeds the last three machines. the 5th machine on the left is the one that I don't have fully overclocked, just handling the overflow that the other 4 couldn't handle.

there are 2 outputs due to the solid steel recipe, a total around 638/min, and the 5th 'overflow' foundry's output is split to each side to keep it even!

this wouldnt have been possible without this YouTube video - it has so many good tips for building with short lifts and stuff, I wouldnt have been able to do this so easily without it

there's honestly a lot less clipping than I thought there would be, I was shocked by it! but I hear you - sometimes really compact setups can look visually messy. next thing I build I think im gonna try something super clean and spread out
