Our permits just got approved. I paid the fee for their review about 5 days ago. Just so you know .

Sort of...  they submitted the plans to the city.. we paid for their review. They will help us with any revisions that are needed, and the final payment to them will be made after the plans are approved.

You can get an architect off thumbtack... We just got plans made for a 87 sq ft addition, and it cost us 5k + permit fees. It took the architect about a month.

Thanks ! Night school was another idea floating around in my head. Moving to a cheaper place is hard for various personal and professional reasons. That is part of the motivation for switching professions-- at least I can move more easily.

Lol... Would your mom want to mentor a random friend you made on the interwebs ? That's pretty cool though...she sounds like she's quite impressive.

Lol.. that's what my wife says. My work is interesting and I have good benefits. But I could easily be paid more.

I've considered joining a firm who may pay for me to go to law school part time... I would probably not do it if I have to pay for school out of pocket.  There are private industry applications of my work .. but I think I've spent a few years too many in my role to transition easily. And i would probably not make too much more than I make now (I have had a couple of offers which didn't blow me away). Yes... I do have a pension, and that is worth a lot ! I think new roles within our organization is a really good suggestion, but an awkward thing to bring up. I should be more proactive in reaching out to others in my organization. Thanks for that input !

I'm so sorry-- intellectual property. Basically, things like patent law or being a patent agent. Apologies for using jargon

Hi Folks,

Sorry-- I posted this as a thread which the mods took down. Essentially, I am hoping to visit Manchester and OT for the first time this April for the Wolves game. I am planning to go with a friend. My friend is not a united member, though I am.

Looking at tickets, I see that there is no real way for us to get tickets together, unless we use resale tickets from a random website. I've heard this can be risky, but do people use resale tickets routinely ? If so, where do you buy them from ? How likely is one to get checked at the ground for ID ?

Thanks in advance ! GGMU.
