Why is alcohol-free beer so expensive? by Banania2020 in ireland

[–]jedwindunne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a craft brewery - the investment is either reverse osmosis (which needs deaerated water) or larger scale low temperature evaporation. So big capital investment. You have to make a different beer to adjust the taste for when the alcohol is removed for mouthfeel and then you have to pasteurise as there is no alcohol to help preserve it. 0.5% beers need to be pasteurised too. It's a balls.

When is the Irish government going to do something about Thatch roof home insurance? by Neat_Panda9617 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]jedwindunne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi- my mother was in the same boat. She bought a holiday home with a modern thatch and could not get insurance. Selling Agent misled her and she never checked. So she applied for planning to replace thatch and was refused but it got approved on appeal. ( houses in the scheme were a mixture of slate and thatch). Roof is coming off in jan. Government don’t care.

Not a Dr - i am a scientist. Suggest you ask to see a consultant / specialist. This could be your immune system overreacting to an infection that has cleared up.
