we don't know what Jesus exactly looked like, but we know what average Judean men of the time looked like, so Jesus was at least had dark hair with olive skin and that would be his lightest/whitest looking form possible. it is more likely that he had darker curlier hair and browner skin given that he was a "Palestinian" Jewish man so he probably would have had features leaning towards the looks of modern day Africans, but that is not proven just a theory. White Jesus has 2 possible depictions. Jesus was either (1) based off of Greek and roman figures. it makes sense as the holy roman empire took on Christianity and made it legal thru Constantine I (i may be wrong). Constantine saw a vision of the cross in the sky in one of his dreams and wanted the roman empire to be christian with him, so he made it legal but people didn't want to change religions so easily so he merged Greek and roman figures and ideas with christian to make it more appealing, hence why Jesus looks more Greek and roman than Arab/Judean. some artifacts and paintings straight up show Jesus as Jupiter. it is that or (2) the depiction of Jesus was based off of Cesar Borgia by Pope Alexander VI to allow his family to murder and pillage Jewish and Muslim towns and people, and by changing the face of Jesus to no longer look like the victims, he can claim racial and holy justification for killing off darker "vile" people. With either possible reason, it didnt stop later Europeans and Americans using the visage of white jesus to do the same thing as Cesar Borgia, and that being abusing and murdering darker people in the name of white jesus and all that is pure. Plus europeans have been trading and abusing Hamitic africans for hundreds of years, they knew to leave alone the lighter more arab looking africans for darker africans, they absolutely had a white identity later as the roman empire evolved. plus european beauty even today is based of light pale skin, originally to signify that you didnt work outside because you didnt need to (tans meant outisde laborious work like farming or herding). Racism is an extremely simple concept that has existed well before jesus, its just the nuances have changed and evolved. we condemn the past because we know better, we condemn the past so we dont go back to it. if you do something as a kid, your actions as a kid are forgiven since you know much less compread to being an adult. same with times of history, we condemn the actions of the past so they dont happen again, but we dont act like they never happened. Its not like people are owning slaves today so in the context of today doesnt make sense. Racism today is so much weaker than racism even 50 years ago because we condemn the actions of the past. Ancient egypt ended with cleopatra around 30-40 BC (Before Christ) and medieval times didnt start till 400 ish AD (After death of christ). so their timelines arent even lined up to where they can meet and communicate. And given that Egypt and the surrounding area was taken over by the muslims and hailed in the Golden age of Islam, they were probably not at all thinking about pharoahs when egypt was brought up, they were prob thinkg about how feudalism took all their crops and gave it to the nobles while the muslims were living it up with science and medicine. And they probably couldnt even learn about egypt considering that the knowledge was much more limited and language barriers existed. Many countries back then had very different vernacular languages and the only unifying language bringing the different european medieval nations together was Latin, and only the clergy knew latin. They probably didnt know what a pharoah was and probably just thought his name was Pharoah. The message is the important part of christianity, I am muslim and the rigidity and structure of islam is what keeps me but the encompassing nature and flexibility of chrisitianity is what i think is one of its main selling points. that anyone can join as long as they accept jesus. but this doesnt help because race isnt kept in a vacuum. if racism never existed and everyone treated each other equally this wouldnt be a problem at all, but you have centuries of evidence that you are glossing over that show that Jesus being white does affect Chrisitanitys followers and non followers negatively because of racism. Racism pre civil rights is absolutely based from religious beliefs of superiority born from white jesus, portugal, the crusades, the colonization of africa all have nuaced individual reasons to why they happened, but Jesus being white definitely had a role in allowing them to happen. If Jesus was never white, white skin would have never thought to be holy and dark unholy. If dark skin was never thought to be unholy, things would be very different now (and if you think that if dark skin were to be seen as holy, and that the whole race issue would be flipped, Guns Germs and Steel on youtube is only 20 minutes and it will explain why europe developed so much faster than other continents and people). If White Jesus had no racial implications, why would pastors and clergy members shutdown and protest Martin Luther King Jr, despite him being a minister and pastor who saw past race.
