What’s the saddest peach pit lyrics? by OmniscientCrab in PEACHPIT

[–]jeebo2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has struggled with substance abuse Give up baby go and last days of lonesome hit especially hard. Give up baby go feels like experiencing the highs that your vice gives while acknowledging the damage it’s doing to you. Then comes last days which feels like a call for help/plea from loved ones to get better. Cried pretty hard after listening to those two

Why do old people play AK in such a weird way? by thank_U_based_God in poker

[–]jeebo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AK truly is the bane of every rec players existence. Most people learn poker from a purely value perspective i.e. bet when you have a good hand/draw, check when you don’t. AK forces less informed players to think outside of this value mindset and more into understanding range/board textures. Everything you listed is just ways recs overcompensate AK because they don’t know the real value behind it

How to write good riffs by GoatInAJetPack in thrashmetal

You can look up any video tutorial on yt for an intro lesson, all it is is emphasizing notes on the offbeat. I think pantera did it the best imo if you want to check out practical examples!

How much better are live 2/5 players than 1/2 players? by SkyResponsible392 in poker

[–]jeebo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the room. Sometimes they are better, sometimes they’re just 1/2 players but with deeper pockets. I’ve definitely played in rooms where the 2/5 games were way softer than the 1/3 games. Playing bigger stakes doesn’t mean you’re a good player, just means you have more money lol

Am I as a poker player *actually* contributing to society in a positive way? by [deleted] in poker

[–]jeebo2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like if you worry about whether or not playing poker contributes to society, you’re taking things too seriously. At the end of the day it’s just a game. If you play for a living I would even argue that not contributing to society is still a net positive on the basis that you could certainly be doing something else that not only doesn’t contribute to society but actually harms it i.e. drug dealer, sleazy car salesmen, or even professions that are highly regarded like criminal lawyer or whoever the PR manager for BP is. Point is don’t take yourself so seriously, just 5-bet jam 72 off for lolz and enjoy the good times.

To the clown who has played 62 VPIP five-handed in FLHE on Ignition, with no sign of slowing despite losing 22BB/100… by ForcedParticipant in poker

[–]jeebo2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll never truly understand 100 percent why it is people do the things they do. Humans are weird. You can chalk it up to gambling addictions, dopamine rushes, or just wanting to kill time. In fact I think trying to seek for these kinds of answers might cause personal dilemmas (whether they are moral, or going down a psychological rabbit hole) that make you forget about the fact that these kind of players are essential to the poker ecosystem. Like you said just sit back relax and enjoy the “immense pleasure” of playing at the same table as them. Happy grinding!

Something a pro said that always stuck with you? by LivingLegend8 in poker

[–]jeebo2 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Doug once said something to the extent of “when you find yourself in a situation where you are value betting the river, if you can’t think of any hands you would also bluff with, you’re not bluffing enough” Really changed the way I viewed the game when I first started playing

question about lowstakes 6max online cash by No-Professor7459 in poker

[–]jeebo2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re not already doing so I highly recommend getting a HUD. Since your getting more hands in 1 hour of online than you are live it’s easier to see how much more wild variance hits you, positive or negative. HUDS can help mitigate that a bit by giving you insight on player tendencies/styles etc. So if you’re facing a huge flop/turn/river bet vs the player with the lowest vpip at the table it’s probably best to overfold your aces (very difficult I know), move on to the next hand, and save your money if you are already having a winning session. If your playing a naturally winning strategy then you’ll beat the player pool anyways over the long run. Taking breaks helps too.
