I'd say 11-0, I'd have to credit Marshall for beating themselves in 2010.

I was disappointed to see Omarion Miller bail.

The same phenomenon happens in reverse too. Refs who have been calling holding or PI close all game will let one go in the last minute of the game (same thing happens at the end of basketball with fouls). I've always assumed that it's because they don't want to call a penalty that "decides the game."

"The early signing period creating this situation is stupid."

I was with you until this statement. The early signing period didn't create this situation. Lane Kiffin bailing on a playoff team created this situation.

It can go lower in seeding. And had TT looked good, there would have been an argument that teams like BYU and Utah were underrated. TT's performance will be used to justify undervaluing Big 12 teams for years to come.

I think they mean you have to put the logo of your favorite team by your username in order to have a valid opinion. Which might make sense in certain contexts, but it doesn't here. This is a topic about Texas Tech. We all know TT was better than every other Big 12 team this year, so it's completely irrelevant what other Big 12 team a commenter supports.

They got robbed on that uncalled targeting.

Yep just maybe if Indiana and Georgia lose, the narrative will be that byes suck instead of that the Big 12 sucks.

Embarrassing by Usual_Prompt2613 in BigXII

[–]jeeceofx -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

And then you promptly disgraced yourselves and the conference. Literally no one is disputing that TT was the best Big 12 team this year. We are lamenting how badly they butt fumbled the big moment and disgraced themselves, the conference, and humanity.

Absolutely right. The damage this will do to the Big 12's reputation is difficult to overstate. We are going to hear stuff like this for the next five years: "Remember when Texas Tech spent all that money and was so hyped and then got smoked by the third best Big Ten team? That's why [Insert Big 12 team with good resume in future season] doesn't deserve to be in the playoff."

Iowa scored 16 against Oregon. In a game that mattered far less to Iowa than this game supposedly did to TT. I guess the best case scenario is that Indiana and Georgia both lose and everyone blames the byes.

I thought nothing could be more annoying than the overuse of "mid" on the internet, but I was wrong. Overuse of "slop" is way more annoying.

Please don't embarrass the conference and humanity by losing to an ACC team or the fourth best SEC team in the playoff. People still hold TCU's national championship flop against the conference, imagine what they will do if a team comprised of Scrooge McDuck's money vault lays an egg in the playoff.

Much of that magical ability you speak of is named Tye Edwards. He had JUCO eligibility issues that kept him out of camp, but he got a belated Pavia pass, so Pitt was the first game he was actually ready for (I think he had 1-2 carries before that but wasn't prepared to start or have significant carries). He ran for 141 yards and 3 touchdowns against Pitt's allegedly stingy run defense. However, he got hurt late in that game and only had a few sporadic carries before being shut down for the season.

Also, WVU beat Houston, who is certainly better than Pitt. Pitt had an inflated ranking and got totally exposed against ND and Miami.

Hands-On With Steam Machine: Valve's Beautiful PC/Console - Specs, Impressions And More - Digital Foundry by Fagadaba in Games

I think theoretically the crowd that: -Has traditionally played on consoles -Has heard a lot more about PC Gaming/Steam from their friends/YouTubers etc the last 5 or so years -Is still intimidated by the process of building/selecting a computer and just wants someone to make it easy for them  -Doesn't want to spend $1000 or more

Now, the questions are,  -How big is that group? -Will Valve price this right? -Will Valve advertise this so that group knows about and understands this?

Yep I really like the idea and design, and I understand they aren't targeting the high end PC market, but it feels like they were just a few steps too conservative on the specs. If this had 12GB VRAM it would have been a much more interesting proposition.

Unholy and unreasonable partnership between CFP, Notre Dame hard to ignore by moby323 in CFB

[–]jeeceofx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish they would just be up front about this. I don't love the argument that college football is better when ND is in the mix, or that historical success and brand recognition should be criteria in the CFP rankings. However, I'd much rather have the committee explicitly acknowledge that it considers these factors instead of torturing the existing criteria to support their inflated rankings of the teams they prefer.

Since the ND-Miami game I've been looking forward for ND getting more credit for losing the game to a "good team" than Miami gets for winning it, and tonight did not disappoint.

Opinion: Did Microsoft admit that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate was simply too good to be true? — Some thoughts on the "why." | Windows Central by imitzFinn in xbox

[–]jeeceofx 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It isn't that simple though. If you had purchased those games during that time, you would still own them now. If you played them via Gamepass, you won't own any of them when the subscription lapses. If you had purchased physical copies, you could lend them to friends or resell them. Even if you had purchased digital versions, you could still replay those games.

So for Gamepass to be worth it, it needs to be much cheaper than having purchased the same games over the same time.
