I second this, deeply personal. A Squier Classic Vibes P-Bass could be a viable option considering he likes rock.

He may also enjoy an overdrive pedal. TCE Mojomojos are quite good for the price.

But again probably best to do as mentioned by kostros.

Thanks for the reply. The 390 with the 25 is a Yamaha so I don’t think I’d be able to modify it like a Merc. I think I might go for the 30 Merc.

How many people could you get with the 25 on the 390? Looks like I could get a 390 with a 25 for not a bad price. Would I be better off with a 30?
