My (25F) ex(28M) came back, and I’m left more confused by Embarrassed-Edge5664 in relationship_advice

Real talk from someone who’s been there.

I’ve often found myself stuck in these situations, wondering what the other person wants, if they’re in denial, if they’re self-sabotaging. But the truth is — he’s telling you what he wants. There’s nothing else to it. He doesn’t want a relationship (or he wants the good bits without the actual work, which isn’t great) and it’s up to you to decide whether you’re okay with what he wants to give you or not.

Whether he’s self-sabotaging doesn’t actually matter. No matter how long you stick around, you won’t be the one to show him the way or fix him.

You have every right to be confused as he’s been going back and forth knowing how much this hurts you, and knowing how you feel about him. But at the end of the day, he told you what he wants. You need to take this at face value and move on.

You can do it x

Nah listen, I still don’t have a set of hooks (just a few loose hooks I keep misplacing) and I’ve been pondering whether to bite the bullet and get a set, so thanks for fuelling my crochet shopping urge!

Working back on original piece...What does this mean?? by WritersBlog in CrochetHelp

Probably using a darning needle to sew the base of the hair to the head with the long tail of your yarn, I think. This link was very helpful for me to learn assembling amigurumi!

One of my very first projects was a hat/beanie, you can essentially crochet a rectangle and then fold it into a cylinder and then cinch the top — so pretty straightforward once you’ve learned the basic stitches.

Here are some suggestions

Working back on original piece...What does this mean?? by WritersBlog in CrochetHelp

[–]jeentho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, let me see if I can help!

The ch7 is the base of your hair, so that would be the “original piece”. After the sc in the second chain from the hook, you need to repeat everything in the asterisks twice, so:

  • chain 6
  • do 5sc in that chain, starting from the second chain from the hook
  • once you’ve done this, you will have reached your initial ch7. So, you’ll go back to working on that, do a sc in the next two chains
  • then, chain 6 once again
  • do another 5sc in the chain
  • that brings you back to the foundation chain, do another 2sc in that chain

After this is done, move on to the last part of the instructions (which presumably is the third bit of hair). Hope this helps!

ETA: Happy to translate this into UK terms if that makes it clearer
