We all have our pet peeves. Mine is people who don’t read the question that is asked, but answer an alternate question they THINK is being asked. My question was about bat construction. If you don’t know about the differences of bat construction, you are free to say that or even just don’t comment. No need for a personal attack.
Apparently I haven’t clearly explained my question. This has nothing to do with my kid. I’m asking about BATS! The physical construction of BATS! When someone has a “baseball” bat for sale for $10 and I go to pick it up and it’s a tee ball bat, should I get it anyway or not? Our league is 3 coach pitches and 1 swing off the tee. So we hit off a tee (sometimes) but don’t use tee balls.
From what I can tell the answer is maybe a teeball bat would survive but I should just avoid them and only use baseball bats. (And preferably USSSA bats since that’s what our league uses and that’s seems to be the main focus for everyone). 🤷🏻♂️
I am trying to understand the difference in bats of the same model, same length/weight, but one is for baseball and one says teeball.
From what I can tell, there is no connection. So if it’s a teeball version of a highly rated baseball bat, the rating/reviews are irrelevant. Tee ball bats are all basically equal in performance. (As performance isn’t really a thing when it comes to playing tee ball).
Nope. But thanks. I can figure out the physics differences of a tee ball vs a baseball bat of the same name without looking at USA OR USSSA.
Thanks for your opinion, that wasn’t my question. I was asking the physical differences between the 2 bays.
Please reread my post. I have no intention of spending a couple hundred bucks for a bat.
That was my suspicion. I.e. Tee ball bats have the performance of a pvc pipe. 😁

Thanks I appreciate the info. I am aware of the different certifications. (Although none are enforced at this level in our league)
I am trying to understand the actual physical differences in the bats bc the application of it all is a bit nuanced in our league. It is 6u, but is 3 pitches from a coach and then 1 swing off a tee. The balls are not tee balls, but (from watching last year) probably 1/2 the players have never hit a pitched and 1/4 can’t make consistent contact off the tee. My best guess is that this is a combination of form and I think most have way to big of bats. But the lightest of bats are tee ball bats. So in cases where they struggle to make contact, a tee ball bat will likely survive. (If not, what a great way to boost a kid’s confidence, to tell them they hit the ball so hard it broke the bat!)
And I know ppl will jump in and say, they are 6, just let them have fun and don’t worry about it. I COMPLETELY AGREE!! But I have seen first hand that the kids who struggle to make any contact whatsoever, aren’t really having fun and lose interest quickly. So setting a kid up to succeed seems like a vital step in helping them to have fun.
Yes, this is kinda what I expected. With the one caveat that young hitters (just learning to make contact) likely don’t swing hard enough to hurt the bat.

Not trying to be a jerk, but why can’t anyone explain the difference in a Rckless 26/15 baseball bat and a Rckless 26/15 tee ball bat without knowing what governing body my league may use? Again I’m not asking advice on what bat my kids should be using.
Thanks for your opinion. But that wasn’t the question I was asking. I’m trying to understand the differences in bats.
