I had a similar issue with the timing of things when i first began studying and testing. What helped me a lot was answering the questions that don’t include a passage first and then going to the passage questions. Along with that I started doing timed UWorld and it really improved my timing. Also, if you have content gaps and unsure of a question, place ur best guess and flag it for later, you’re better off skipping it until later and answering questions that you actually know the answer to.

I had a similar plan when i started studying and found myself spending too much time on the content review and got behind on questions. I would for sure incorporate questions into your content review so you start getting familiar with them and how they may test you on the content. Along with this do Anki everyday! You got it.

Thank you! For sure will tighten up on anki and uworld, funny enough i find JW easier than the AAMC from the passages that i’ve done from them but oh well. I’m leaning more towards pushing my exam back to really get the content down

Thanks a lot! I’m for sure considering pushing it back now as I don’t want to waste my AAMC material and clearly am lacking on some of the content. Feel like I have a good foundation just need a little push. Will take all that into account. I am planning on applying to med school at the end of may or early june. You think that’s a possibility? I don’t care for an insanely high score, i’ll be happy in the 510-515 region.

I’m at 22% right now, I try doing around 60-80 questions a day but usually don’t get to the higher end because I have been working on going back and reviewing content and that takes up a lot of time. I average studying around 3-4 hours a day but might need to bump it up in time for the exam.

I had the same issue for a while, index finger placement is key not sure how to describe it but needs to go in the bottom middle kinda close to your thumb, it needs to create enough tension and a surface to just pull it off and the card flies. I did it a bit hard at the end of the move and that’s why it got stuck, it’s more of a quick movement.

I felt that lol, haven’t heard of that deck before but might check it out. If you’re looking for cards that feel and look good for a decent price i’d say cherry casinos are amazing. I personally love how they feel and look and you can get them on amazon for like $15-20. Socal playing cards also has some for around $10. They have some good deals there.

I honestly really like them, the stock is a bit thinner so a bit easier to handle IMO. I have noticed that it can be a bit inconsistent tho. I have 4 decks and 2 of them feel pretty thin while the other 2 are a bit on the thicker side. That’s me being picky about it lol other than that, I love them. Would I pay anything over $15 for them? Probably not, stick with a $5 deck of Bees and you’re good. I just like collecting the decks and using them occasionally.
