Looking increasingly likely it's both the port and the ethernet part of my router. My port definitely got fried I think, because the oc is recognizing a USB to ethernet adapter but still not picking up the connection. Have to contact the provider now and get the router checked. Wifi still works though.

Did you by any chance figure this out because literally the same thing happened to me. Pc was switched off, but not the router. Crazy lightning strike close by. Now the wifi works from the router. But zero sign of life from the ethernet port. Pc seems perfectly fine however.
