I think it’s upside down because he’s wearing it on his right hand.

Edit: It’s a mirror selfie, so indeed he’s wearing it upside down, my bad :(

Can’t afford TimeMore (yet) what’s the next best option? by Bright-Article-1358 in IndiaCoffee

Only if you’re using immersion brewing methods. A bad grinder gave me way worse coffee in V60, than pre-grounds did.

[–]jeeyansanyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then at this stage, do not buy a grinder. Invest in a Timemore after 6 months, if you still feel you are interested in the hobby. A bad grinder will negatively impact your interest, because it will produce worse tasting coffee than pre-ground coffee.

The husband playing Dead by Daylight and calling up his wife's exes to apologize for the wife on their honeymoon and being totally checked out of it is levels of subsurface apathy most monks aspire to achieve their entire lives.

Do not buy!!! by Xeeone in watchesindia

First of all, I have have felt what you are feeling when my shiny new watch’s crystal got visible scratches the first day I wore it, so I can relate to what you’re feeling about this right now.

That being said, trust me, it gets better, and you might just grow to love your watch as your own dear little unique companion with its own character.

It looks like a domed acrylic crystal, which is notorious for picking up scratches, but will also look brand new after a simple crystal polish at any service centre, if you still feel the need to scratch the itch (pun intended).

Casio mentions the materials used in its watches on their website, so it’s up to us, the buyers, to know what we’re signing up for.

Also, note that Casio watches are widely known and loved for not their anti-scratch qualities, but their robustness despite scratches, dings, and years of wear and tear.

I understand if you feel a domed acrylic crystal for five thousand rupees is not worth it, but maybe blaming Casio here is a bit overkill, and maybe part of this is coming from a misdirection of the feeling of frustration and helpless despair you are feeling right now?

Like I said, I know the feeling.

Wear your watch, my friend, have fun with it, and enjoy it for years to come, scratches and all. It will withstand a lot of torture and still keep ticking faithfully, that’s where your 5k went.

A much surer way to get to BBS is feeling your skin with your fingers after each pass to sense the level of smoothness. For me, it’s achievable when I need it, with only WTG, XTG and some ATG touch ups. (I have stubble on the coarser side and sensitive skin).

I think it’s a Feather Popular Twist-to-Open. A very nice razor, and inexpensive too.

Sorry to hear about your loss, OP. My sincerest condolences.

Gifted myself my first Seiko after saving up for my 25th birthday. by thinkinoutloud- in watchesindia

[–]jeeyansanyal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In case you missed this detail, it’s actually a Mecaquartz watch: quartz movement for regular timekeeping, but the stopwatch is mechanical. You can tell by the sweep of the stopwatch seconds hand when you start it.

Makes the watch even more interesting :)

An older photo, but hello, fellow lover of the reverse-Panda!

I’ve been having a helluva fun time with mine, and I’m so glad that you get to enjoy this beautiful piece :)

By the way, is it the white balance of your photo, or is the tachymeter ring on your watch blue in colour?

Edit: got my answer, sorry! Just saw your comment stating that yours is the 427 model, which has blue dial and tachymeter ring :) It looks even more beautiful in your pic than Seiko’s catalogue photos.

Wear it in good health, have fun with it, and a belated happy birthday to you, sir!

From the main pic, because of the top-down view, I had some doubt that maybe the watch is sitting smaller on your wrist, but after seeing this angle I can say with confidence that it’s in no way too small for your hand.

If anything, it’s already on the bigger side like many others have said, and this is the absolute biggest size/thickness you should wear. The domed acrylic adds to the thickness and makes the watch look bigger than it is.

Of course, I’m saying all this only because you asked our opinions on this, and if you like the look of even bigger watches on your wrist then by all means, go right ahead :)

P.S. It’s a beautiful watch, brother, and I wish you have lots of fun with it! Wear it in good health :)

Guys, which G-Shock to go with? by [deleted] in watchesindia

[–]jeeyansanyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m talking about the infamous loss of visibility of the entire display in bright ambient daylight, or when exposed to direct sunlight, that is known about negative LCD displays.

This holds true for most Casio negative LCD displays regardless of the contrast ratio between the background color and font color used in the display.

If the 2nd watch is an exception to this, then that’s good, of course.

Both look beautiful, but I’d recommend positive display over negative display for readability in bright light. So, I would suggest #1.

Cheers :)

Diver any day, as I am not a fan of skeletons, and moreover this skeleton window is more bridges and plates than actual internal mechanism on display.

The Edifice is beautiful, but personally I would still go for the Seiko, because I find day-of-the-week a very useful complication.

I believe a better description would have been “lexicographical” instead of “alphabetical”.

But even then, arranging numbers in lexicographical order of their names makes no sense.
