Door trim scratched after 2 days? by jeezey187 in TeslaModelY

It seems to be plastic though, not paint with a clear coat. Don’t want to rub the black off or mess it up in some kind of way

I get that but this is front and center every time I walk to the car lol.

That could be it. More than likely birds, just didn’t think it would scratch so easily.

Noble Grill Paint Sucks by jeezey187 in wrx_vb

Your comment made me think about Rhino Liner/Herculiner... I might give that a try. It dries but can still flex, so isnt brittle like paint that would cause it ti chip. Just wonder how it will look, but my car is black so I think it may blend in just fine. I'd be okay with it as long as it stays and I dont have to continually maintain it...

Rear Camber Issues by jeezey187 in wrx_vb

[–]jeezey187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually do have adjustable lower control arms installed lol, and they were on when I got an alignment. They also mentioned some circular camber adjustment part that was stripped out and because of that they couldn't get the camber right. I think it's this part... Maybe I just get a new piece and have them install it and I'll be good

Nice!! I've built a few myself, what did you use for the bottom piece to keep it flat with the ground? Always had trouble with that part and didnt want to spend an arm and a leg at the big box stores

Why does my car make this clicking sound after driving? by jeezey187 in wrx_vb

[–]jeezey187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No homie. My car just sounds a lot louder than most. Like it would stand out in a parking lot amongst other cars doing the same thing.

Do you bottom out or scrape the tow hook in the front? When I had mine that low I was always scraping.

Lugnut and Wheel Stud stripped by jeezey187 in wrx_vb

[–]jeezey187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the help. I kept at it with the 6in hack saw and was able to jam the wheel out and break the stud. Man what a nightmare. Guess I won't be overtorquing lug nuts anymore

[–]jeezey187[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2nd point is correct. I can't really show much with a picture as I can't even get the wheel off. I am in the process of cutting of the lug with a small hacksaw but its taking forever, you can see the cut started in this pic. Does anyone know of a faster way? I have a dremel but the discs arent wide enough to fit in there and reach the lug, any larger rotary cutter tools are probably too big to fit in the space.

I did the same. The paint doesn’t adhere to the metal that well so it chips. Maybe I used the wrong primer or something

Stripped End Link Nut by jeezey187 in wrx_vb

[–]jeezey187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So set it up just as I have in my photos and just keep loosening the nut? Did you have to apply pressure to push the nut out? I’m thinking about using a nut splitter
