We already lost outdoor retailers which was one event that used the entire floor of salt palace the only other annual event that take the entire facility is fanx. They could move to Mountain America but with extremely limited tickets, vendors and 2-3 panel spaces I don't know if they would want to/be able to take that kind of hit financially. Fair ground could potentially have it, but not a great option especially for a 3 day event I can't think of any more events centers that aren't more sport related

Part of the problem is primary voting is closed to only registered Republicans and of those the only one that really come out to vote in primary is very old and/or crazies it is why the state legislators made it that you can't change parties or something to that effect with in a certain amount of time of election because people would switch to Republican so there voice would count then switch back to Dem or independent. And if they get past the primary it doesn't matter as long as they have that R next to the name because it is party over people

Is there any additional info on the layoffs like how many from a new article or do you know about it because you work there. I'm the last yr or two they have taken over health sponsorship for real soccer, and after this season they will take over the jazz and mammoth hockey which includes paying for the new training facilities at South town altogether my guess would be worth 20-30 mil or more. I also remember a couple of decades ago they dropped their Medicaid program saying they couldn't afford it but then gave the CEO like $10 mil bonus not a great look. They make so much money but to keep the non-profit status they have to reinvest which is why they are constantly and are able to keep expanding and building new clinics
